A Tribute To Courage" (also known as the Sam Houston Statue) is the tallest statue in the world of an American Hero. Built in Sam Houston's honor, artist David Adickes sculpted and built the 67ft statue and it was dedicated to the City of Huntsville on October 22, 1994. The project was funded by in kind gifts, donations and a brick paver project that continues today.
