  Lots of things in the room either dont work or are in disrepair, but the rates are on the cheaper side. In a pinch, its passable. I wouldn't take a woman here, unless I was trying to get rid of her.

  Traveled for work, I had high expectations due to the photos but i was there 5 days and housekeeping never came. The furniture was out of date and the hotel in general just needs a make over. The treadmill in the gym was broken, there was not many options for snacks and when I was there fire alarm went off so I ran out of my room and the front desk looked at me crazy and said “oh someone probably just pulled the alarm, about 10min later the fire department in the building banging on doors. I chose this location because Im an IHG rewards member but it needs a serious upgrade. Theres a nice Marriott just down the street.

  Clean wasn't an issue. Polite wasn't an issue. I guess I expected more. Our suite was nice sized. I expected more than just a rolling desk chair for seating. Also, I don't know why, but they have the water pressure in the bathroom sink set really low. I don't recommend.

  We come to Harlingen to visit my MIL and thought we would give this hotel another shot...dont get me wrong, the front desk was very attentive, but the room they put us in smelt muggy, was hot as heck in the room and we called the front desk. 1st of all, how could housekeeping not know that the AC was NOT cooking? They moved us to another room, that room too was warm, but we turned down the AC and left and came back later.. yes it was cool when we came back which is how we like it. But through out the night, the AC turns itself off/on?? Not sure if that's normal, but we like our AC to be on. The shower water did not come out as a shower head should and for $149 for 1 night, it was NOT worth it. If it wasn't for some graduation going on this past weekend, we would have made reservations somewhere else. Now we know when we come back not to stay here. Its an older hotel, the fridge was Not plugged in, when my husband plugged it in it made noise like it was on its last legs. The chairs in the room had the pleather coming off of it. If you want people to stay, update the furniture. It does have potential, but smelling muggy/moldy like its flooded, not sure if it did, but that's the indication?? Research people, before you stay at Candlewood Suites. Expedia pics are not accurate at all.

  The whole third floor smelled terrible, and the room smelled like urine. We decided we couldn't stay. The staff was very friendly and did quickly issue us a refund.
