  For a hotel carrying the Best Western name, this property fell remarkably short of what should be fairly basic expectations. The check-in process was unnecessarily difficult, and what became particularly apparent by checkout was the lack of communication between front-desk staff. An issue involving my points was supposed to be addressed, yet when I went to check out in the morning, the clerk seemed to have little or no knowledge of what had been discussed at check-in. My points still were not properly handled, leaving me to deal with a problem that competent communication between shifts should have prevented. Guests should not have to start the explanation over simply because the person behind the desk has changed. Then there is the coffee situation. Apparently, anyone leaving before 7:00 a.m. is simply out of luck. For a national hotel chain serving travelers—many of whom are on the road early—that is astonishingly backward. Providing coffee to early-departing guests is hardly an extravagant amenity; it is about as basic as hospitality gets. Between the cumbersome check-in, the unresolved points issue, the poor communication between the check-in and checkout staff, and the complete lack of consideration for guests departing before 7:00 a.m., this was not an experience befitting a chain of Best Western’s caliber. There is considerable room for improvement in both front-desk coordination and basic guest service.

  The room i got was terrible as you can see on the pic the couch was very dirty and the room had a wet horrible smell

  This hotel first off the customer service was just horrible and then to top it off I saw roaches in the room some dead and alive. The room smells like mold. I traveled out here just passing by thinking I would be treated like a human being but was just treated with disappointing rudeness. And to be given a dirty room to sleep in was the cherry on top. I will definitely not be staying here the next time I pass through Giddings Texas.

  I pulled into the parking lot. Watched the owner come outside and start yelling at a guy getting out of his car. Blamed the guy for sleeping in his parking lot, called man a freeloader among other terms. I spoke with the man who was yelled at. He didn’t have a reservation, he had parked and was walking inside to inquire. On his walk to the door is when the owner spilled out to confront the man. He had never been there prior. I cancelled my stay right from the parking lot after the owner returned inside to call the police on the guy.
