Pros: -right on the sea wall -free entertainment with a live band starting at 9pm -decent room size for two beds -staff seemed nice though we werent pressed for specific rooms and what not Cons: -the tiniest bathroom I've ever seen. The door opens into the shower and its so small that it barely clears the toilet. -no complementary breakfast. Even Super 8 offers some sort of free breakfast. Its $18 per person -hidden fees that can't be waived. It could be worse but its a $25 amenities fee for things like the pool, arcade, and bikes. Nothing two adults with a car and a planned trip to the beach would want. -our room was right above the pool. At night it quieted down but I could see how some might have a problem in the morning or during the day with the noise. -we did not have a view of the beach/ocean. Though we were on the second floor right above the pool we had most of our view obstructed by a portion of the hotel building. -elevator was sketchy. We were leaving the second floor to the lobby and would get stuck half way and ascend back to the second floor. The fact that house keeping seemed familiar with the problem is a huge red flag. Also, the elevators are tiny and can barely fit 4 people comfortably. It was never empty when I was there and had a long waiting time. TLDR; decent room size, sketchy-crowded elevator, nice staff, no complimentary breakfast, hidden fees, and its within walking distance of the beach. You're better off camping at State Park.

Dont buy food at the restraunt inside the hotel. It was not a very good burger . They charged an extra dollar for salad dressing (not extra salad dressing) plus they charged $2.00 for room service then called me to come down stairs to get it. Not to mention the gratuity was added to the ticket and it wasnt a choice to tip. Guess they knew it was a bad burger. Everything else was great the rest of the stay.

Room was ok the floor stays sticky and wet I’m sure because of the humidity. Place is over priced $270 a night is way too expensive for this place. Definitely going to explore my options when we come back to Galveston. Breakfast needs healthier options. Staff is excellent super knowledgeable and friendly. Balcony view was terrible !!!!!

As an IGH member I always plan around my rewards. We have never been disappointed. As a whole this conglomerate of hotels are amazing, however, this is o e place I will not return to. Our room had hair in the bed and shower. There are fees for EVERYTHING, parking, pool towels, even the same old standard breakfast that is usually complimentary was 16.99 and you are limited to one drink of choice. No coffee AND an orange juice without yet another fee. The place reminds me more of a motel than a resort. The beach is extremely filthy and not work the walk. Al in all, as a restaurant owner myself, I understand the service industry quite well and I was not pleased at all. I will continue my o use IHG in hopes this is their one location that’s terrible however, a few free points is not worth what little free time I get if this is becoming a trend throughout their organization.

They charge you for everything at this one. We are IHG Platinum members bc we stay at them so often. Never have we been disappointed staying at one as we were here. The same breakfast that is all the rest you pay $16 for here. And it is cheaper and better to go right down the road to IHOP. You also have to pay for parking. And some other 8$ charge that we still do not understand what that was for. Plus they charge your card a $100 deposit that you should get back and we are still trying to find out why we have not gotten that back. On top of all of that they charged us when we were already back home a charge for $199 and we called and asked for a receipt to explain charges. And at this time they charged us $400 more dollars. I will say they refunded the $400 dollar charge and the $199 charge that they never explained where they came from. But however still have not gave us our deposit back. We left the room as it was when we got there and all dirty towels in the room on floor as we do every time so they know they are dirty.
