Really just a basic hotel with free breakfast; the weekend breakfast lines were long and each day things would run out (batter, juices, meats) repeatedly where folks were waiting up to 10 minutes for each item to be replaced. The hotel was clean. Parking is across the street and $15 a day which was never explained, the desk clerk just asked “do you need parking” and the answer was of course but not like there is any other options near so it is what it is. The pool was very small, no hot tub , we didn’t even bother to go out there at all because of that. The hotel is across the busy street to the Seawall and it is a good walking distance to the traffic light either direction where it would be safe to cross the road. Definitely not worth the price they charged at all and we won’t be back.

This hotel is top notch! Thanks to the second shift team including Todd, Akira and Oscar, the downstairs lobby / entry area feels so cool and clean, welcoming, PEACEFUL! Checking in is a breeze. Todd and Akira have all your needs taken care of at the front desk; on top of their game with smiles; very impressive while possessing humility; provide accurate guest portfolios; and hotel information. Talk about relief front the hot sun. Oscar is part of the housekeeping crew this shift; he lends a ready smile and helping hand if you have any needs as well. Smiles all around. Management, please recognize these employees for their servitude; you did a great job selecting, training and placing these employees so give yourself a hand as well! God Bless and Safe Travels All!

We booked three nights here. The first keys they gave us were for a room already booked. Pretty disturbing to walk right in on another family! One or both of the elevators were broken the entire time and we had to take the stairs to our 6th floor too most of the time. Not too bad for us as we’re in shape but there were older people really struggling especially when lugging suitcases. Our toilet clogged and I had to request maintenance several times and it took hours for them to come fix it. The a/c in the hallways doesn’t work so it felt and smelled muggy/wet dog-like. Breakfast was mid. They didn’t have any salsa the whole time we were here and didn’t serve biscuits and gravy like most other Holiday Inn Express. Positive: cleaning service was great. The front desk was friendly. The pool being right across from the beach was pleasant and we loved having a balcony large enough to sit out on.

I came to Galveston and checked in 7/29/26 and checked out today 7/30/26. Out of all the IHG hotels in the area we chose your location and were incredibly disappointed. I was traveling with myself and young children as my husband had to work. This was their last mini vacation before they started school, and my 4 year old is still telling me how disgusting it smelt on the 2nd floor. Here are my concerns and main reason I am incredibly disappointed in this establishment. - When I booked, I requested a crib for my baby and it was not in the room ready to go when we arrived. I called the front desk not once but twice in a 30 minute time span to get it to our room. After spending the entire day at the beach he was ready to go to sleep, and forcing him to stay awake until it arrived was absolutely miserable. Edit to add: I texted the day prior to be sure they had cribs available and they assured me they do. -Only ONE elevator working!? I understand things happen, but it’s incredibly disappointing that we had to wait 10-15 minutes each way when going up and down with young kids who can’t take the stairs due to being medically complex. -There was 2 fans on the 2nd floor, and it smelt like trash. Maybe the AC is broken? Left me extremely nauseous. -Parking garage across a busy street? Yes, I should’ve checked the parking arrangements prior to booking, but hauling loads of items and making multiple trips while ensuring myself and children got across the street safely was a piece of work. On top of that paying an additional $15 to park whenever our room was already $250 WITH ALL THESE ISSUES. If I knew we would run into all of these issues I would’ve never booked here. I will tell everyone to not come to this hotel because it made our vacation that was supposed to be fun absolutely miserable. My kids could not wait to get home, and they usually LOVE hotels. They couldn’t stand this one and neither could I. We are IHG members and have stayed in IHG hotels many times over the years. Next time, I will make the drive to webster to stay in Staybridge suites because they would never treat people this way and blow it off like everything is fine when addressed about it over the phone and tell you to specifically wait for the general manager to answer via email because “she doesn’t speak to people over the phone.” I expected much more out of this experience. Room was decent, but that’s IT. Housekeeping was friendly when they finally brought the crib, but that’s the only good thing I have to say. I WILL NEVER BE STAYING HERE AGAIN, SO PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME THAT GENERIC RESPONSE ON FUTURE STAYS. NEVER EVER AGAIN.

The rooms are fresh & clean; but very basic. Very disappointed in the basic part; I was book through club vacations & they stuck me here. Danika at front desk was super friendly & made my daughter feel comfortable. She went above & beyond to make our stay suitable. Outside of Danika, the friendly breakfast staff & the varity of breakfast; I did not like my stay. I came here from a vacation package & was charged at check-in an additional $145 for taxes for a 3 nite stay / Friday, Sat & sunday. Plus they charge 15 per day to park across the street in thier garage. We are handicap, no discount for handicap; no military discount for parking. Also, They own the restraunt next door called the spot & the food & ice-cream was good. The spot was really offered a variety of food, stayed open late, great staff & was convenient. But the hotel, charging 145 in taxes for 3 nites was excessive. Especially when I checked out a day early & they wouldn't refund the tax for 1 day. We left Sunday at 7:45am for the presentation & returned at 5pm from the presentation. Per Manager Joyce; she couldn't refund me the tax for Sunday because I was checking out after 3pm & housekeeping was gone. I said I've been at presentation this entire time. I shouldn't be taxed for a room I did not occupy. Joyce said she would send an email; but when I followed up with IHG, They said who would she be emailing - not us. Im just discusted with behavior & wilfull unwillingness to do the right thing. They did adjust the parking; but I checked out - was it really an adjustment. Interactions seemed hostile, firm, unfriendly & accusatory. The hispanic male manager at front end was confrontational & Sarah at the front desk acted disconnected from every issue I politely & patiently pointed out. Im assuming Its a 2 star hotel for a reason. Im sorry but I was not happy & didn't understand the back & forth over a tax for a day im not there & clearly ending my stay earlier. I checked out early; Sarah & Hispanic manager was unconcerned. I can't imagine this hotel is a part of IHG, gettingJD Daniels & BBB good status; my experience makes it all questionable. Again, Danika was genuinely kind, helpful & recommended great seafood spots like Katie's to eat locally. KATIE'S had amazing fresh fish! Ben & Jerry's icecream & Rita's icy was highlights. But our interactions with other front desk staff really took it over the top.
