- AJAJ JohnsonAug 9, 20261.0Booked our room at this Candlewood Suites over three months in advance for our Galveston trip, so I figured we were set. Not the case. We showed up and were told our room wasn't available because a toilet had "erupted" about an hour before check-in. They scrambled and put us in two rooms next door to each other instead. That's when things really went downhill. My daughter pointed at something in the curtains in the first room, and when I pulled them back a huge roach took off running. That was it for us. We didn't unpack, didn't stay a single night, and asked for our money back on the spot (which they did give us, to their credit). The front desk guy was genuinely nice about it, but you could tell he was completely burnt out and dealing with way more than one person should have to handle. Add to that the smell of weed in the hallways and elevator being stronger than the actual air, and it just felt like a property that's been neglected for a while. Really disappointing for a three-month advance reservation. Wouldn't recommend, and we won't be back.

They’ll refuse to honor the request for a refund, and they’ll charge absurd rates for a stay at a rundown hostel. People were stomping and yelling at all hours of the night, guests were drinking at the pool, guests were even shouting vulgarities in the lobby upon our arrival. No refund policy past 15 minutes of entering the room, and it was a $250 stay for one night that we ultimately couldn’t even complete. Truly a shameful establishment.
- FCfate cbhJul 19, 20265.0The lady at the front desk, (bless her heart I don’t know how to spell her name, but she was working on July 19 when I checked in) she was so wonderful and helped me and my girlfriend get a room after everything that had happend today, that women deserves a major raise.
