  Had to have my key card redone 22 times in the 36 hours I spent there. Said hot food for breakfast. Only hot food was oatmeal and pancakes. Said they had no way to heat other food.

  ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2/5) I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel other travelers should be aware of my experience. I booked this hotel specifically because it is directly across the street from Brooke Army Medical Center, where my father was admitted to the hospital. Being able to walk back and forth to visit him was the entire reason I selected this location. The room itself was clean, the towels and amenities were well stocked, and the staff—especially Abby at the front desk—were friendly, professional, and genuinely tried to help. This review is not a reflection of the front-line employees. The major issue was that the building's air conditioning was not working during my stay. From the time I checked in, I heard multiple guests reporting the same problem. The hotel provided a box fan and later offered a portable A/C unit, which confirms that the issue was known and affected more than just my room. The proposed solution was to move guests to another hotel. While that may sound reasonable, it completely defeated the purpose of why I booked this property. I needed to be across the street from the hospital, not at another location that would require transportation and create additional stress during a family medical emergency. What was most disappointing was being expected to pay the full room rate despite not receiving one of the most basic amenities a hotel should provide in Texas: functioning air conditioning. While I appreciate the efforts of the staff, I do not believe the lack of compensation was an appropriate response to a property-wide issue that significantly affected guests' comfort and experience. The location is excellent, and the staff were kind and helpful. However, management's handling of this situation left me feeling that guest inconvenience was not taken seriously. I hope IHG and hotel management review their policies for situations like this and provide a better resolution for future guests.

  The GOOD - Room was clean and good size. Bed was comfortable.Breakfast was extensive with lots of choices. The BAD - Room keys didn’t work 85% of the time when used on both outside back door and/or room. Got them “re-keyed” and still same problem. Weird window “blinds” but no curtains to block out light. The “blinds” they had did NOT block parking lot lights much less rising sun or heaven forbid you had a night shift with a full sun situation.

  On the weekend beginning Friday, May 15th, we had family visiting from Memphis and Alabama. Powless House was the agreed upon place to gather and stay for the weekend. We were greeted by Mr. Chris at the front desk. He was/is professional, kind and welcoming. He provided superb service from the beginning of the stay until our departure. He made our stay very enjoyable. The accomodations were GREAT. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, temperature in rooms ideal. The breakfast prepared by Ms. Estella and Ms. Tye was very good, FULL breakfast(i.e. cheese omelette, sausage, bacon, fruit, oatmeal...etc). Before we left also encountered the pleasant Ms. Abby and Ms. Beylan(not sure of spelling) working at the front desk. All around OUTSTANDING service. Looking forward to next opportunity to return.
