  There's a possibility that this place might get some lower star reviews for the end of August. Dumas had a small thunderstorm that took out the power on the south side of town. All the hotels, Walmart and other businesses in that vicinity lost power for a couple of hours. We found out when we arrived to check in and there was a sign on the door stating that, and asking people to come back at 7 pm. We went up the road and got dinner and by the time we were done, the power had just been restored, but partially. When we walked in the front desk agent was on the phone with a man who was blaming her for not being able to handle his request for a refund on his room because he booked through a 3rd party site. She had been dealing with people who were pissed about the power being out. Despite that, she remained pleasant to everyone she was dealing with. The elevator was still out and all the first floor rooms were taken, but she found us a room on the second floor right by the stairs that was perfect. Hopefully, before posting any negative reviews becausethey were unhappy about the electricitygoing out, people realize how petty that is since it was beyond the hotel/staffs control.

  Gavyn was a real delight at the front desk! She was quick to check me in early and and a knew what she was doing. I hope that she excels in her career as she will be an asset at anything she pursues.

  I have issues. When I used the grab bar to help me get out of the bathtub, it fell off the wall. I am a senior citizen, but not disabled and was able to catch myself with just a slip...not an actual fall. I tried to call the front desk several times but they never answered the phone. So I took the grab bar and the trim pieces to the front desk and gave it to the TWO desk clerks that were sitting there. This issue was never fixed and I was not offered a change in rooms. I should have been offered a room change for safety issues! The second issue was that the pool was so cloudy you couldn't see the second step much less the bottom of the pool.
