The Warwick Melrose Hotel is a beautiful historic property in the center of the Oaklawn area of Dallas. I booked a King Deluxe Suite. My Husband and I went for a family wedding. The valet service was awesome! Friendly and professional! Then we step in to this beautiful hotel and the gentleman at the front desk William and Kevin were welcoming, smiling and treated us like frequent guests. The Bellman was awesome. Our Suite was on the 7th floor. We walked in and it was Huge and gorgeous! My Husband gave me a look like “what did you do”! It was perfect! I prepaid both nights. $511! Classic! The bed was so fluffy and comfortable and I slept so well the two nights we were there! The Landmark Restaurant was a great place to have breakfast also. The Library is a great place to have a drink and they had entertainment! I want to go back!! I highly recommend!

My husband and I made a reservation here thinking this would be a step up from our normal stomping grounds. We were quite wrong.. upon arrival we were informed that this hotel is valet only, no parking yourself, no public parking whatsoever. We were warned that if we tried to park somewhere else we would be towed. For a nice part of Dallas, the homeless population was rampant. While my husband was checking in, I stayed in the car and was approached by a strung - out and homeless looking individual who circled the vehicle while staring me in the eyes.. Even though it was over $300 for 1 night, we never took our luggage up to the room. We didn't feel safe and did not stay there. We opted for a Courtyard by Marriott ( That was $86 ) in Addison that we were familiar with. While this may be a nice place for some, I would not recommend it.

We stayed at the Warwick Melrose over the weekend for a birthday celebration. It came down to the Melrose or the Joule, and I definitely picked the wrong place.
Check-in was handled by very unfriendly staff, which is not the Melrose I have known on previous visits. We were not even offered a bottle of water or given an introduction to the hotel. The birthday was clearly noted on the reservation but was completely ignored. Not even a card in the room.
The room saved things somewhat. Our corner king was gorgeous and spotless. Valet was excellent, respectful and professional. The Library was a great atmosphere and we enjoyed our time there.
Room service was lackluster with poor presentation, and a tray sat on the coffee table. Checkout was a different person but the same unfriendly attitude, closing out the weekend on the same note it started.
The Melrose has the bones of a great hotel. The front desk needs attention if it wants to live up to the property’s reputation, or to hold its own against the Joule.

My wife and I live about 1.5 hours from Dallas and we come for a long weekend several times a year. We try to hop around and stay and new places and try new dining spots. This was our first time at the Warwick and really liked the vibe of the place. Our room was a corner king and the bed was cozy, the a/c was cold and the shower was hot. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We loved the location and the walkability to several good places. Also very affordable compared to some of the other places we stay in Dallas.

Extremely disappointing experience at the Warwick Melrose Dallas.
Due to an apparent issue with the hotel’s payment system, my card was charged/held a second time for the full amount of my stay, despite the booking already having been prepaid through my company.
The hotel acknowledged the issue, but the funds have remained unavailable for several days. This has caused me significant financial inconvenience during my business trip, as I have been left without access to a substantial amount of my own money.
What is particularly frustrating is the lack of an immediate resolution. I understand that technical issues can happen, but the way this situation has been handled is simply not acceptable for a hotel of this standard and i now have to rely on my bank to issue the dispute.
I would strongly recommend that management review both the payment process and the way such incidents are handled with guests. A hotel should not leave a guest without access to their funds for days because of an internal payment-system issue.
Very disappointing experience. I expected much better from the Warwick Melrose.
