  My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Clute, Texas, for one night on June 25, 2026, choosing the hotel because of its convenient location near the relatives we were visiting. Although the room itself was spacious and comfortably furnished with a king-size bed and a pull-out sofa, the condition of the bathroom was completely unacceptable. Hair was present on the sink, the floor, the toilet, and in the bathtub, making it evident that the bathroom had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival. The bathtub fixtures were also heavily rusted, and I was genuinely concerned about what might come out of the showerhead when I turned on the water. The lack of adequate towels was equally surprising for a room designed to accommodate four guests; only one hand towel, two bath towels, and two washcloths were provided.. Because we were on a tight schedule visiting family, we did not have the opportunity to report these issues immediately, although we certainly should have. To make matters worse, the Wi-Fi service was extremely unreliable, adding to an already disappointing experience. While the hotel's location was convenient, the poor cleanliness, inadequate amenities, and substandard internet service outweighed that advantage. With so many lodging options available in the Clute/Lake Jackson area, I would strongly recommend choosing another hotel.

  Decent hotel. When I was there, there were out of cinnamon buns from Monday till Wednesday and had them for Thursday. I also had to keep asking for salt and pepper every morning! Maybe it was too hard to put out the two salt and pepper shakers every morning! If you can’t get the little things done right, I worry about being able to handle the larger problems. Location was good for where I had to be and the staff were nice. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked excellent.
