South Congress Hotel is one of the most stylish and memorable places to stay in Austin. The design is stunning, blending modern elegance with a distinctly local Austin character that makes it truly unique. The rooms are beautifully appointed, incredibly comfortable and every detail has been thoughtfully considered. The staff is warm, attentive and goes out of their way to ensure an exceptional stay. The location on South Congress is absolutely perfect with some of the best dining and shopping right on your doorstep. An unforgettable hotel experience that I would recommend without hesitation.

Considering Hyatt has purchased this hotel and is closing it for renovations next month, I’m not sure this review is even worth anything, but I supposed it could help someone considering it for May. JUST DON’T.
After checking in, I learned that Hyatt announced just a MONTH ago they are laying off the entire staff and closing all restaurants at the end of May. Despite MANY hotel properties in Austin, they made zero attempt to place the staff anywhere. That type of lazy corporate decision is unacceptable.
The lighting IS weird in the rooms. The shower is odd. While the bed is comfy, and the rooms are spacious, and the wood flooring is beautiful, the obvious wear and neglect of repair needs is telling of Hyatt’s decision to close and renovate. And yet they’re still charging full price. 🤬 I wish I had known- I would have stayed elsewhere.
I wonder what they told all the poor people that had weddings and events booked here this summer. 2 months notice of the closing is HORRIBLE, and Hyatt should have done better.

This was a dumpster fire of a stay from the beginning. No offense to the staff as they were all very pleasant. The hotel only has one working elevator and when we checked in it was out of order and I had to carry our bags up the stairs to our room twice as there was an issue with the first room. The lobby furniture is worn and dirty. The pool, although advertised as open, is dirty, sticky and unmaintained. On Saturday they shut down the lobby bar, which also serves the pool, for a private event. We asked for a glass of ice and the blond manager was snarky. We were told us the bar next door would open within the hour and we could walk over there. As the night went on our room vibrated for hours from the wedding reception below and Louis who is nothing more than lip service versus customer service offered ear plugs. Buyer beware, there is nothing that would make us risk staying here again with all of the other options in the immediate area.
Shawn helped save our bachelorette trip by fixing our tv! king shawn, great experience!

Amazing hotel that I’ve stayed at many times.
I had to cancel my recent trip for a personal emergency and they were more than understanding with waiving the cancellation fee. Great service and will stay any time I’m in Austin.
