We recently completed a cross-country trip from the west coast to dc, and we stayed at only Holiday Inns throughout. This was the worst of our stays.
(1) rude check-in lady (who had her earbuds cleaning spread across the counter. ew)
(2) breakfast cost $15/person. This was the only Holiday Inn where breakfast was NOT complementary.
(3) final strike—the light above the shower was dangling…

Let me start off with Valerie (front desk lady) was great and very helpful. Now, I will say for the money they are charging, this Holiday Inn needs to do better. While it is nice, here are a few things that need addressing. In our room, some of the tiles on the floor you can feel shift or are cracked, the carpet is pulling up where it meets the tile, the toilet didn't work and we had to fix it, the toilet paper holder wont hold the roll, the shower faucet looks broke, water doesn't get very hot, the sink barely drains your toothpaste spit, and the air vent in the bathroom looks like it has never been cleaned...gross. The place was just all around kinda dirty. There was someone's soda pop stain on the wall that didn't get cleaned. One of the rooms pull out beds had a blood stain on it. Then they want to charge $15 for a breakfast that should be free and is just ok. Most of the other Holiday Inns I have stayed at this type of breakfast is free. In talking with one of the other residents staying there, he mentioned he had to search 3 different floors for ice...pretty fitting. Please lower your rates or make an effort to look at your rooms as a whole and start fixing or replacing items that are clearly needing attention to justify the rate. This just shows a lack of care and laziness from the staff and the company. Thankfully, if it wasn't for Valerie's kindness and attitude we may have considered going elsewhere.
