We arrived just before 3pm and they returned us stating that they need to wait until it's 3pm. What if I arrive at the hotel without a booking, I don't think that they would tell us to wait until 3pm. Duplicity in action. One star would be more than enough!

Overall, we’ve found BW a good option for overnight stays when traveling with our cat. They have the most reasonable pet fee around! ($30) Our King suite room at BW Amarillo East was spacious and clean. The solid surface floors are a good touch (easier to clean). Most important: the shower had good pressure and bed was comfy! The room was quiet despite being on the 2nd floor (the designated pet floor). We would have slept better if the blackout shade on the window had covered it completely. The space at top and bottom let a lot of light in from the parking lot. And there was that red flashing light on the ceiling of the room that further inhibited our sleep (thankfully we read another review and didn’t attempt to tamper with it LOL). Also the AC unit was loud. And unfortunately for us (non-smokers) they provided an ashtray at every main entrance, making it hard to avoid breathing in smoke while coming/going. Although the breakfast buffet seemed popular, it lacked healthy/fresh options. On the plus side, the staff was super polite, nice and helpful and the hotel felt safe/secure. They even provided a secure room to store our bikes!

Was there for a week for business. Expected trash and clean towels at least on third day, but that never happened. Hotel was clean and a nice place to stay but didn’t like the fact that room never got cleaned while I was there. Even after the fact I brought it up to the front desk. Also the bar is closed so it’s nice to look at but don’t expect it to open.

Would NOT recommend. We got here at 10 pm Friday night. Then Saturday morning we get up and go eat breakfast. Not a lot to choose from. Go back to our room to find out our key doesn’t work anymore. Get it fixed. The next day Sunday… the toilet clogged. I’m not sure how a hotel toilet clogs as no one used a lot of toilet paper and I’ve never heard of it happening. But here it did. Only to find out they don’t have anyone that knows how to fix it and they don’t have a plunger. After waiting an hour we left and told the front desk staff to go in and fix it when they can. Come back later that day to find out our key doesn’t work again. Also we requested toilet paper (we only had one roll in the bathroom when we got here) from the cleaning staff who didn’t speak English and apparently didn’t have any. Later we called to ask if they could send some up to which we were told we would have to come get some. For a three night stay that was barely two days in the hotel a lot went wrong and though the problems did get fixed…eventually… the staff didn’t seem at all friendly about any of it. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it here.

⭐⭐ 2/5 Stars — Unforgettable "Luxury" Service! If you’re looking for a hotel experience that doubles as an interactive comedy thriller, this is the place for you! Where to start? Housekeeping here is so dedicated to preserving history that I assume they vacuumed right around a men’s belt left on the floor by a previous guest. Truly immaculate attention to detail. The bathroom also features a lovely broken toilet paper holder, which is great if you enjoy the cardio of chasing a runaway TP roll across the floor. As for breakfast? It takes a unique talent to completely ruin potatoes and eggs to the point of being "funky," but luckily, they didn’t botch the bacon. 🙌🏻 Priorities, right? The real 5-star service started with a ceiling device that was blinking like a rave strobe light, keeping us awake all night and the staff that is so familiar with their own rooms that they give out completely wrong information! When I asked the front desk for a maintenance check, assuming for a low battery, the desk staff calls the manager and after being told the details of the concern/device, he was told it’s a “carbon monoxide detector that always blinks!” Cool! Desk staff wouldn’t let me borrow a ladder I jokingly asked to use to remove the battery so I suggested I’d use the furniture in the room to do so. His response? “🤷🏿‍♂️ok” So with a simple quarter turn, said device is removed only to realize there’s no battery; and thought dang, quite the sophisticated hotel to have CO2 detectors hardwired also! But spoiler alert , a phone call to the room from the indifferent & misinformed desk clerk reveals this is in fact NOT a CO2 detector but instead part of the hard wired fire alarm system. Okay, my bad, no problem, immediately put it back. No harm, no foul…right? Ahahaha, noooooo! The manager (who initially told her employee what the device even was, albeit obviously wrong) was quick to handle it with her signature grace and intellect (clearly an expert in facility management and federal law). In such a professional, calm & kind manner of speaking, she made sure I knew that I had committed a federal crime removing a fire alarm (pffft, how could I forget that she manages airplanes, oh wait, Google reminded me hotel rooms aren’t the same as planes, phew!) and that we had to get off the property! Woah lady, yall said it was a CO2 detector, it was promptly put back in place, aaaaaannd it’s not a federal crime btw. But she was such a good listener that she wasn’t interested in any facts, so to save us both time, I gave her the courtesy of disconnecting the call. When we came back to pack our bags, this incredibly considerate manager had actually called the local police department just to ensure we were safely escorted off the property. Truly, such bespoke service & such a personal touch! I gotta say tho, the best thing about our whole BW experience was those two cops! They were totally professional, kind, and even gave some good suggestions on the situation to us 😉 oh and don’t worry, the other guests will also know what’s going bc the manager feels it’s important to share your stuff with other people! What, now I’m banned you say? Oh, that’s cute. No worries, it was my first and my last stay at a BW anyway, that room was terrible! Glad I only wasted one night there. But then why two stars if it was such a terrible experience? That’s bc as I relaxed with no worries in my much better hotel room across the street looking back at the Best Western, I was thankful for getting to take home such a hysterical memory! 🤠 After-all, memories are the best souvenirs, so thank you Best Western and kudos to your top-tier staffing selections that made this possible!✌🏻
