  I stayed here from September 2–4. Unfortunately, my experience with the rooms was disappointing, although there were some positives. The first room I was assigned on the first floor had a very strong musty smell. I went back to the front desk and requested another room. The front desk employee seemed visibly irritated by my request and repeatedly told me that the rooms had recently been renovated. I was eventually moved to room 206 on the second floor. The second room smelled much fresher than the first, but I still noticed several cleanliness and maintenance issues. The headboard had a noticeable amount of dust on it, the fabric lampshade had visible brown/gray staining and marks, and the bathroom mirror was cracked along the lower right side. I also hung clean, dry clothes in the closet, which itself did not smell unusual. By the following day, however, my clothes felt damp and had developed a damp/musty smell. I’m not sure what caused this, but it was concerning. I did not request another room after room 206 because I was tired, wanted to rest, and after my experience at the front desk when requesting the first room change, I did not want to go through the process again. On the positive side, the rest of the staff I encountered were nice, the bed was comfortable, the sheets and towels were clean, and the breakfast was excellent and consistently good throughout my stay. For the price, though, I expected better room condition, especially after being told the rooms had recently been renovated. Based on the condition of Room 206, I’m not sure what renovations were actually completed.
