Room was fine.
As for check in. My mother is a loyal holiday inn customer and loyal continuous. Many times she has booked a room for me, and I’ve given the last 4 digits of the card. We were guaranteed on the phone by Isabella, 2 to 3 times, that this would be fine.
We then called not once but twice, and spoke with Danielle. Right before check in.
When we got to the hotel we were then told that, because we didn’t have the physical card “she could cancel our reservation”. She then called Isabella, who claimed my mother was lying, and they never spoke.
Danielle at front desk then proceeded to ignore us, nor update us. And call over security claiming she could then refuse us if we were confrontational guests. Never once did I raise my voice, or call her names. She automatically had an attitude because a fellow coworker fell short. The way to react is work your hardest to be your kindest. Not ignore, not claim people are confrontational. And certainly not by threatening to cancel our reservation at 12:30 IN THE MORNING. BECAUSE UR UPSET, OR UR COWORKER SUCKS. SORRY NOT SORRY.
WILL never book at another holiday inn again.

4:11 am woke up to water coming out of the ceiling of my bathroom. I called down to front desk for them to send security up to confirm that what i was saying is true. For them to take 45 minutes to get me a new room.
For that issue that was out of my control they gave me a voucher for buffet breakfast and not a sorry or anything else to keep me coming back.
For that i will not be staying here again and wouldn't recommend anyone else staying here.
This place is quite nice and very clean. It is quiet and the people working there are helpful. However, they will play games with your money, overcharging you and charging you twice. They then will say they will reimburse you for the mistake but fail to do so. Staying here has been a nightmare due to the billing. I don't typically leave poor reviews but there you are. Stay at your own risk.
Had a pleasant day of a couple of days. However, a $120 charge a couple of days later ruined my experience. After calling the front desk, I was told I paid for parking - I didnt have a car in Memphis during my stay - and it couldnt be changed anymore. I requested to talk to manager, but 3 weeks later still not received any help. Also a phone call with IHG did not resolve anything. I hope my issue can still be resolved, and I can improve my rating of this hotel.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. My cousin's card was on file to pay for the room, and I was specifically told that my debit card would only be used for a **$50 incidental hold**. Instead, I woke up to find a **$410.38 charge** on my account.
The problems began at check-in when we were given a key to a room that was already occupied by a sleeping guest. This was a serious safety and privacy issue. After returning to the front desk, we were assured that I would not be charged again, that notes would be added to our reservation documenting what had happened, and that we would be moved to a king room. None of those promises were kept. We were placed in a double room instead, the room phone didn't even work, and I later discovered that no notes had ever been added to our reservation.
The customer service was just as disappointing as the mistakes themselves. There was no sense of urgency, no accountability, and no genuine effort to resolve the situation until I mentioned that I would be contacting corporate. A young lady at the front desk and the manager Percy Swan treated me as if I was the problem instead of this issues I had experienced. The following morning, I called the front desk regarding the **$410.38 charge** and was simply told there was nothing they could do and that I would need to speak with the manager. When I called back, I was told the manager was with another customer and to call again in 10 minutes because they didn't know when he would be available. Rather than taking my information and having him give me a call when he finished.
I understand that working in customer service can be challenging—I have worked in customer service myself and have dealt with frustrated customers. I know that when someone is upset, they're usually frustrated with the situation, not the employee. That's why I was especially disappointed when the front desk representative began raising her voice simply because I was understandably frustrated over an unauthorized charge and the ongoing issues with our stay. Finding out there were no notes on my reservation, despite being assured everything had been documented, only made the situation even worse.
From the room mix-up and unexpected charge to the poor communication and lack of accountability, this entire experience was completely unacceptable. Guests deserve better than broken promises, careless mistakes, and employees who show little concern when their errors negatively impact their customers.
That said, I do want to acknowledge the sales manager, who spoke with my cousin Tammy Viktoria, who treated me like a person and didn’t assume I was in the wrong before listening to my situation and did everything she could to work towards a solution for me.
