DO NOT BOOK HERE.
We booked this hotel simply to get a few hours of sleep after spending the day moving our daughter into college. Unfortunately, we checked out almost immediately after arriving.
We were given a room on the first floor, which was a level down as the main lobby/entrance is on the second floor. When the elevator doors opened, I genuinely thought there had been some kind of mistake. I could not believe this was the hallway leading to guest rooms. My son actually stopped walking when he stepped off the elevator because he thought we had gotten off somewhere we weren’t supposed to be.
The carpets were absolutely filthy. Baseboards were missing or ripped off. There was painter’s tape all over the walls and even holes in the wall next to the elevator button. The hallway was poorly lit, smelled old, and looked completely neglected.
Unfortunately, the room wasn’t any better. It did not smell clean at all. It had an old, stale smell. The furniture was extremely worn and covered in scratches, and the bathroom fixtures were rusted. I honestly would not have felt comfortable bathing in that bathroom. I understand that renovations were in progress but this was so bad. Why have your customers in a space like that if you have other rooms available?
I went back upstairs and spoke with the woman at the front desk. She was very nice, and I appreciated her kindness, but I was told the carpets were new. I honestly don’t know what floor she was referring to because the carpet on the first floor was anything but new-looking. She offered to put us in another room on the third floor, which really ticked me off more because if it was a better room without construction, why not put us there in the first place.
This property is nowhere near the standard I would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. I actually chose this hotel after reading a few reviews and looking through the photos online, as I always do before booking, and what we encountered was incredibly disappointing.
Unfortunately, this experience also reinforced something I’ve noticed over the years—the quality of the Holiday Inn properties I’ve stayed at has declined tremendously. I haven’t had a genuinely good experience at one in quite some time. I decided to give this location a chance based on the photos, but after this experience, I will likely avoid the brand altogether in the future.
We didn’t even stay. We checked out immediately and found another hotel. I cannot recommend this property in its current condition. Absolutely not worth the risk.

Nice hotel. Linda that prepares the breakfast was very nice this morning. Says she has been here for 10 years and the staff is like family. Loves what she does! The breakfast area was well stocked, clean, and very presentable. Great job Linda! Thank you!

My only concern about this hotel is the pool! Pool has a VERY high concentration of chlorine. I went with a group of about 15 people and nearly all of them including me, complained that their eyes were burning and some of them even developed a cough. It was also very humid and hard to breathe. I am concerned that if not fixed, it may become a health hazard.
