  We booked our room well in advance. We arrived around 7pm. They told us they had overbooked our room type and that they were upgrading us to a suite. Well we are 3 elderly ladies and the suite had a small spiral staircase to go up to the bedroom that had one bed the other person had to sleep on the main floor on a fold out couch. We were supposed to have had a double queen bed room. They said they were completely booked and didn't have anything else. We made the best of it. Breakfast was a joke. The first morning they offered grab and go muffins and coffee. The next two mornings there were no muffins. They said the truck didn't run. Very poor on their part. It was in the perfect location for walking the strip but I will not stay there again. We did get to see a bear in the river in front of the hotel. That was about the most exciting thing about that place.

  The location is absolutely amazing but the rooms are definitely out of date and need some work done. There were multiple things in our room that were broken like the door handle to the balcony, the window to the sink by the microwave had the wood frame coming off and some stains on the carpet and water stains above the shower. The shower was okay but the water would stop and then continue randomly. We did call for somebody to clean up stink bugs that appeared in our room (which we get it’s nature and it’s prone to happen) but they didn’t even send someone until the very next day and we already shooed them out ourselves. They definitely need to invest in renovations. We also thought we were staying at the one with the water park and much nicer rooms but apparently that wasn’t the case. Should probably make it a little more clearer about that on the website. It’s decent if you want an affordable place and it is in a nice prime location but I don’t highly recommend.

  Worst hotel experience in ten years! Stay away! Plenty of great other options around. We specifically booked the night with this hotel because it said they had wifi and what hotel these days don't have wifi?! 1. The service was unreachable for hours of trying. 2. We called the front desk for help. 3. They told us the room we were in sometimes can't access the internet because it is on the end. 4. The room was a supposed "signature" room so we paid extra for a nice stay. 5. The front desk told us he couldn't do anything but we could call their IT department for tech help. 6. I knew it would be a waste of time! But we continued anyway for an hour with this guy being put on hold and turning off and on every device. 7. After an hour he told us the wifi was completely down but they could send a guy in about 4 hours. 8. It was already 1-2am. 9. We said no! Dont wake us up. 10. He asked if they could come in the morning before 10am to check it out. 11. We said no, we are leaving before that we were only staying for one night. 12. He asked if we wanted to have somebody come out just in case? 13. We said, "Listen we really want our money back for this night and this was ridiculous." 14. He said he was just the IT department and couldn't do anything to help us and had no say in that. 15. We went to bed woke up and left. I am shocked with this level of service. Just terrible. It felt like we paid for a signature room to do an IT technician job for the hotel.... The least they could have done was give us our money back. Very bad. Unjust. R

  We have a mixed review! Location is wonderful! Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Beds were clean. Staff was super kind and friendly. Breakfast is a grab and go style and we loved it! Oatmeal, coffee, orange juice, individually wrapped big muffins, granola bars, yogurt, and such! Cleaning staff was nice! Overall the “M”otel needs updating! My husband would never have let me stay knowing that access was from an outside door. He doesn’t feel it is safe enough. I felt safe though!!! There is a balcony over the river…our room though had a view blocker scrubby looking overgrown tree blocking most everything. On a cruise ship this would have been a cheaper price for “partial obstruction”! We did have wildlife!! Black bear eating fish out of the river. Wild mallard 🦆 ducks were beautiful and made some cute quacking sounds. People fly fishing the river. Covered bridge was a nice walk! Now the bad: I showered and within 5 minutes my feet 👣 were BLACK from the dirty carpet! Carpet was stained! Wear socks!! Then throw them away! The sink didn’t drain well. The shower and toilet all outdated and stains made it look dirty. The balcony needs a coat of rustoleum paint and to be cleaned better. Otherwise well enjoyed!

  This is the WESTGATE River Terrace. Do not support this chain, they are a huge scam. I filled out a survey online for what was advertised as a 3 night 4 day stay in Gatlinburg. Turns out its a trap to get you to listen to a "90 minute" presentation on Westgate timeshares. We had 18 months to book, but they texted weekly to get it booked so we finally booked it. Upon booking, I was informed we had to listen to this "90 minute presentation". Our presentation lasted 2 and a half hours, 150 minutes, not 90 minutes, and was held at a beautiful resort. They lied and said they did not own the place we stayed at, which is branded as Westgate River Terrace...? Also said they had invested a million into the property (where??) they spent so long trying to push us into their financial scam that they made us miss our show we had scheduled and literally did not care. The timeshare is a huge financial scam - they sell 1 condo 42x. Now the room... Upon arrival to the room, I thought we were going to just leave. They put us in the tower, where there is NO ac in the elevator or hallway areas... and you walk down a long weird area overlooking the sad, closed convention center to get to your room. It's 90 degrees in September. 2 Pools are closed. It hasn't been mowed in a while. Restaurant is closed. Rooms are HORRID. our sink has fallen in and rusted. There is active black mold around the baseboards and ceiling leak that someone has painted over long ago. You have to dance under the shower to get wet. No amenities. The room AC is making a liquid drippy sound and running like a jet engine. TV is so outdated it stops to tell you ever channel and everything you do audibly. No main channels. Location isn't everything. Do not stay here! The Rocky mountain motor car motel was WAY worth it!!
