  **A dog-friendly gem with a rooftop hero** We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Indigo Gatlinburg! Our room was beautiful, comfortable and thoughtfully designed. As travelers with dogs, we were thrilled by how dog-friendly this hotel is. Our pups were welcomed warmly everywhere. The whole place had a happy, friendly feel, and the other guests seemed to be enjoying it as much as we were. The hotel is only about a year old, so there are still a few small things being worked out. That didn't take anything away from our stay, though, and it was awesome from start to finish. A special shout-out goes to Thales, our server at the rooftop Altitude restaurant. He saved the day more than once with his attentiveness and great attitude. He went above and beyond, and he made our evenings there truly memorable. Thales deserves real recognition! Five stars without hesitation. We'd happily come back, dogs in tow. 🐾

  Although the hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly I am tired of these itemized bills that dont reflect the advertised cost of the stay. Sales tax, occupancy tax, service charge, resort fees??? Just a subversive way to extract more money from the public. What is a resort fee? I didn’t use the gym or anything other than the pool. This is not a resort and most hotels have a pool and offer free coffee in the lobby. The coffee maker in the room is terrible. This isn’t just a IHG issue but a broader issue nationwide and I’ve had enough of these corporate scams.

  Upscale and comfortable hotel right in the heart of it all. Sarah at the front desk is just wonderful. We loved the coffee and hot chocolate in the evening. It would be great if the coffee shop in the lobby would carry breakfast Sandwiches. The restaurant on the roof is beautiful however, it needs a lot of work on menu and management. It appears to be run by a family that doesn’t understand this type of restaurant. I would only recommend Altitude rooftop for a cocktail.

  Had one of the worst dining experiences here. Tried to order a margarita, and it took 30+ min to arrive, and had mezcal (not my preference) so had to wait 20 min again to order a margarita with tequila. Waiter asked what tequila I like and gave her a few options. Another 30 min go by, she comes over to say they don’t have one of those tequilas. I told her ANY tequila will be fine at the point. Another 30 min goes by, still no drink. At this point my husband goes up and asks them to please make my drink, she exclaims she found the tequila. Finally get my drink and it comes in a coupe glass no ice. Didn’t taste anything like a margarita. Overall service terrible, rounds of drinks and food came out at different times. My husband was charged the incorrect amount and had to get refunded. Anything we asked for took at least 20 min and they were NOT busy. The most incompetent service I’ve had in a long time.

  Everything is modern and beautiful. We really liked the design and overall atmosphere of the hotel. But: There is no microwave in the room. There is a microwave available on the floor, but unfortunately, it overheats very quickly. For example, if you want to heat a cup of water for tea for two minutes, it shuts off because of overheating and will not turn back on for another 2–3 minutes. When it does restart, it may only work for a little over one minute before overheating again. To use it for longer, you have to wait even more time for it to cool down. There is also no complimentary coffee in the room. The hotel provides one small thermos of coffee for the entire hotel, so if you arrive late, you may miss it. So if you don’t get the complimentary coffee, that’s only the beginning - making yourself a cup of tea can become a challenge too. 😊 The staff was polite, but unfortunately not very warm or welcoming. We would have appreciated a little more friendliness and hospitality. Overall The hotel is modern, beautiful, and has a very attractive design. However, some basic amenities and the level of hospitality could definitely be improved. We enjoyed some aspects of our stay, but these small things made the experience less comfortable than we expected.
