  First of all, I want to mention for informational purposes that if you are traveling with your kids, you may want to stay somewhere else. The location was great for getting around and fine midweek, but on Friday night, the main road gets LOUD. Our kiddo struggled to sleep. I saw a few other families staying here with kids and felt it would be helpful to add to my review, though this doesn’t have anything to do with the stars I gave. I stay in Holiday Inn Express hotels regularly without issue, but this was my worst stay by far. The breakfast was good every morning and it was easy to unload and load our cars. The main lobby always seemed clean. The room, however gave me a “no” feeling. First of all, there seemed to be no weather stripping around the door as light shone through every side of it, giving unsafe motel vibes instead of a HIE. Next, the pillowcases had some staining which made me feel like the room might not be so clean. The bathroom was the real issue. The shower doesn’t look like it’s had a proper cleaning in weeks as evidenced by the pink mold. The ceiling paper was falling down. It had an overall unclean and rundown vibe. In addition to feeling less than clean, the water temp in the shower was unpredictable, the water pressure sucked too, which is weird because there was heavy water pressure at the sink. The sink also backed up with water if it ran for a short amount of time - I’m talking rinsing my toothbrush. I would not stay at this HIE again, nor would I recommend it to others.

  Stayed one night here in deadwood. Checking in the lady was rude. Room was decent. Breakfast was very good. Location right on Main Street.

  We stayed during Sturgis The breakfast was great and they have a machine 24/7 with the option of coffee / decaf / hot water. They also had two different creamers and half and half with cups in lids in the lobby. Also ice water and cups. That was really nice. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The shower was fine It had a bigger refrigerator and a little microwave. There was also a bar sink, which was convenient when someone is in the bathroom and you need a sink. The ice machine worked fine. If you are there during Sturgis it is going to be loud. But. You know that.
