- ARAmber Robinson6 days ago5.0We arranged a meet up with family, including 7 children 3 months to 17 years old, and 9 adults from late 20’s to 73. We chose this hotel because of the water slide, but when we checked in we were informed the slide was closed for maintenance. Our front desk customer service agent, Jayda, was exemplary and proactively contacted management to ensure that the slide was repaired and that an attendant was available for the next day! She single handedly ensured that the children and their parents were able to enjoy the slide’s availability, and looked after a hospitality crowd this large without a hesitation. Jayda definitely deserves recognition as an excellent employee, as well as all the staff this weekend at Garner IHG Brookings, SD. We will definitely book this hotel for another family event in the future.

- JCJonathan CleghornAug 6, 20264.0SLIDE ONLY OPEN ON WEEKENDS!!! Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff was friendly; breakfast was OK - scrambled eggs and oatmeal but actual food, not prepackaged. Half the reason we booked here was so the kids could play in the pool and waterslide, only to find out when we arrived that the slide is only open weekends. They hide that fact very deep in the website. Felt like a bait and switch.

The breakfast was good but lacked some options I have seen at other locations recently. We were disappointed to learn upon arrival that the water slide is only available on weekends and there is a minimum height requirement. I didn’t see on the website that the pool had limited days. My son is also loves water slides and he would have been too short. It would be great to have to information more clearly posted prior to booking.
