  The front desk people were so nice! The room was clean and cold (thats good). The bed was SO COMFY!! Breakfast was a pleasant surprise (also soooo good!) This place is a win!!

  I called to advise we have a pet with us. Online, it says $85 per pet. Should be cheaper but we know hotel franchisees are money grubbers. No mention of taxes. Got a notification of a $96 charge. I ask the front desk once I got there, what is up with that. My husband paid that fee. So we knew it was separate. Lady one on the phone didn't mention taxes. Ladies two and three when I got there. One said there are taxes. I said, what is the tax percentage here? She said "8%". 85*.08=6.80. So 85+6.80= 91.80. But was charged over $10. MJ HOTELS said it was $7.65 for STATE TAX AND $2.65 for ACCOMMODATION TAX. So $10.20!!!!! NONE of that was explained until husband contacted Corp. Aldo, USE A DIFFERENT FONT MS. Bryant-Harper. That "fancy" font looks dumb! This is a great training opportunity! And not a single higher up better point fingers. Take accountability, suck it up. There are no EpiPens for people allergic to accountability. Be honest and transparent! This is what the OWNERS of this hotel need to do. Because I WILL let the highest person up at IHG who works for the franchise side, what yall are doing!

  Rating this out of all the Holiday Inns we stayed on our summer road trip, this one was by far the best. It was the cleanest and the staff were extremely nice and attentive. From the lady at the front desk to the breakfast attendant, everyone was so kind and genuinely friendly. I had never been to another Holiday Inn where they had the breakfast menu in the lobby, so I knew exactly what was going to be there in the morning. They had board games in the lobby as well and lots of snacks available for purchase in the pantry area. It was also a 5 minute drive from many restaurants and gas stations, and we found a cute local place to have dinner that was nice and fuel up with gas to continue our trip.

  You might want to reconsider staying at this hotel if you have allergies and sensitivity to strong odors. We have stayed here before and both times we have experienced rooms with excessive smell of deodorizer. The odor is so strong it caused my eyes to water and after spending the night, I woke up with a sinus headache and disrupted sleep. We would have requested a different room but the parking lot was packed and we assumed there were no vacancies. I don’t think changing rooms would have helped I believe this deodorizer is used consistently throughout the hotel. Management needs to look into this but we will not be staying at this hotel in the future.

  After a very disappointing experience at another hotel, we stopped by the Holiday Inn in Walterboro around 1:30 a.m., exhausted after driving several hours from Central Florida while on our way to surprise family. From the moment we walked in, Kayla made us feel welcome. She greeted us with a warm smile, listened to our situation without judgment, and was genuinely kind throughout the entire check-in process. When we mentioned what had happened at the previous hotel, she sincerely apologized for our experience and reassured us that the Holiday Inn takes pride in its cleanliness and customer service. She also politely clarified that the comment made about their hotel was completely untrue. Even after working since the morning, Kayla remained cheerful, patient, and professional. She got us checked in, explained the breakfast hours and hotel amenities, and made sure we had everything we needed. The room itself was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a good night’s rest. This experience completely turned our stressful night around. Thank you, Kayla, for your exceptional hospitality and kindness. Employees like you make all the difference. We will absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this Holiday Inn to anyone traveling through the area.
