  Booked our timeshare last fall. Asked for 2 joining rooms for 6 people. Was initially told they didn't have ajoining rooms. (But they do have.) Then was told that we couldn't ask for rooms next to each other until arrival. We waited until arrival to ask again. As we arrived in town about 2pm we checked in and was told that our rooms couldn't be next to each other as other people had those rooms. 8 months before our trip we asked for accommodations and got rooms down the hall from each other. That really, really poor service. I love the fact that we were on the beach but getting the run around about rooms left a bad taste in our mouths.

  This is our 4th year coming to WestGate Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As every other year, our experience was one to make us want to continue to coming back the following year’s to come. The tiki bar is one of our favorites. We enjoy the beach view/enterance but ost of all the bar tender Kareem. She is thee kindest individual and makes your stay feel that much better. If you purchase a souvenir cup you will save on refills . Check out WGR if you’re in the area, you will not be disappointed

  Excellent service from check in to check out! Very, very nice and helpful staff! This was my first visit at this Resort but I will definitely return!! It was super clean from the lobby to the elevators, the rooms, the outside surrounding areas, the parking lot, the pools, everything stayed clean our entire stay, I was impressed...we were there for a few days and I never seen anything dirty or out of order! Just a great experience, great staff, great room and wonderful view! They treated my service dog very well also! Highly recommend this location!!

  I stayed at Westgate with my family of four this week and it was a really disappointing experience. Our first room smelled strongly like marijuana as soon as we walked in, which is completely unacceptable—especially traveling with kids. We reported it and had to switch rooms, which was already an inconvenience. Unfortunately, the second room wasn’t any better. It was noticeably dirty, and it felt like basic cleaning standards just weren’t met. For a place that markets itself as family-friendly, I expected a much higher level of cleanliness and care. Overall, between the strong odor in the first room and the poor condition of the second, the stay was frustrating and not worth the money. I wouldn’t return or recommend it to other families.

  We went to Myrtle Beach to go get married we actually stayed at a different hotel but we did have a complimentary stay through Westgate from Chuck-E-Cheese so we decided to book for a Friday night then paid for an additional night Saturday just so the kids would be at the beach for the full spring break well let me tell you the game room is not worth it there's a lot of claw machines and it's expensive there's probably seven games in the entire game room the rooms were nothing special typical small hotel rooms we had the balcony that pointed at Family Kingdom amusement park the remote didn't work to the TV in the room and the TV people have been pushing the button so long with the buttons were warped and when you were trying to change the channel the TV would just turn off the kiddie pool was cold I'm not sure if it was he did but I do recommend that they put a cover on top of the Kitty play area it would make a major difference now I did get a drink from the bar outside at the pool area it was a pina colada I don't know what has happened to pina coladas around if these Resort bars because I was expecting a whipped cream with it you know something pretty it didn't come out like that it was just an icy drink but it was good now we can enjoy the beach in front of the motel at all we had to walk with three kids a 3-year-old 5-year-old and a 8-year-old down the beach because the entire Motel seemed like it was filled with a college frat party while we were there so the moment you walk out their gate to go towards the beach all the college people piled up all their chairs right there and they were playing ball and everything we couldn't even move around for $159 that one night that we paid there I couldn't see nothing that was worth that kind of money we didn't even get took on a tour but these people act like this place is like a five-star magnificent hotel that we didn't get treated with the same respect that a lot of people got treated with heck we didn't even know our way around it took us forever to walk to find something to see if the kids could possibly enjoy this hotel but I can tell you I do not think that we will book through Westgate Resorts anymore and it is a really long way to take your luggage if you guys ever think about that if you the parking lot the loading unloading was so full that we still had to just carry it from the parking deck and then you get on the parking deck maybe you'll find a spot somewhere that you got to get the elevator go down walk across their other parking lot to walk into the hotel there are cheaper hotels up and down the strip that are equally just as nice and some of them offer breakfast. Oh and college kids were out on their balconies all night Friday and Saturday night screaming partying drunk now how is a family Motel allow those people to come do that and party all night with little kids around like I said I couldn't even get the kids out to the pool there was so much partying and out there on the beach they definitely couldn't get in the Lazy River because it was so many college people they couldn't even fit in there if you put them in there with one of them you wouldn't be able to find them they might have been trampled. I do help for a better experience for some people I'm sure it might have been if it wouldn't have been a frat party I still don't see paying that much for TV that didn't work in my room a remote that didn't work nothing special or fancy about the room non Ocean View is what we had and if you pay that kind of money you can get a damn nice Ocean View room with breakfast and probably an indoor water park somewhere else
