  Upon arriving at the Best Western Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, SC, the customer service was friendly and courteous, and we appreciated the welcoming attitude of the staff. Unfortunately, the condition of the rooms was extremely disappointing and overshadowed the positive customer service. Our group was assigned rooms that were not properly clean and had bugs and visible black mold. We requested another room, only to find that the replacement room also had black mold around the A/C vent and ceiling, along with both live and dead roaches. This was completely unacceptable, especially for a hotel where guests are paying to have a clean, safe, and comfortable place to stay. At checkout, we showed the staff pictures documenting the conditions we encountered. Despite providing photographic evidence of the mold, insects, and overall condition of the rooms, we were not offered any discount, refund, or other form of compensation for the unacceptable experience. I understand that issues can happen, but the response after being shown clear evidence was very disappointing. Cleanliness and pest control should be basic standards for any hotel, and guests should not have to move from one room with serious cleanliness concerns to another with similar problems. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel until these issues are addressed. Friendly customer service is appreciated, but it cannot make up for rooms that are not maintained to an acceptable standard. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary improvements.

  Absolutely amazing service! Dev was so sweet and helpful as were all the other staff members. The breakfast was great, room was great, everything was very clean and nicely put together. The check-in process was super quick and easy. Also super close to downtown Charleston as well as idle of palms (12 min to either), and a short walk from some grocery stores and restaurants! Will definitely book again next time I’m in Charleston!

  I love Hampton Inn Charleston SC! Quite, out of all the traffic and I love my bed! The receptionist is beautiful and kind!

  Extremely disturbed and disappointing. I paid for 2 nights. Unfortunately, only made it the first night before waking up with bite marks and rash.. Stains on the mattresses with no blankets. Staff was unaware and unbothered by the issue. Breakfast was definitely leftovers from the day before. For any one staying, just be careful.

  This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. The receptionist was extremely rude and lacked basic customer service skills. He didn’t know how to speak to guests in a respectful or professional manner. My biggest complaint is the breakfast. When I asked if there was any cheese available, I was told they didn’t have any kind of cheese at all. The only meat they served was pork, which I cannot eat for religious reasons. They also offered eggs, which I’m allergic to, and jelly, which neither I nor my children eat. With such limited options, I honestly wondered, what were my children and I supposed to eat? There was virtually nothing suitable for us. This is not my first time staying at a Best Western, but this property was completely different from my previous experiences. The service was poor, the breakfast was unacceptable, and the overall experience was very disappointing. I don’t understand why guests are expected to pay for a hotel that provides such limited service. I would not recommend this property.
