  Not close to the beach. The one beach that is close is swamped with people. The room we had smelled musty and gave me sinus issues. The shower was substandard. The guy working the front desk was not helpful at all. Considering what we paid to stay here it was definitely a rip off. Never again.

  We are diamond Elite members and choose IHG every time we travel (very often). This stay was the only bad experience we have ever had. We were told by one employee a price and the process to stay another night. We agreed and paid. The next morning we noticed extra charges around $400 on our account. When we asked the front desk what those charges were, she was extremely condescending and rude. Told us the only charge she could see on her end was a $10 parking Fee…. You’re telling me you couldn’t see any charges from the check in? Then moving on, she said to my husband “so what do you want?” He then decided to check us out. I asked for an itemized list of all the charges so we can have a record with our bank of what needed to be returned. She handed me a page with the $10 charge. Swore she couldn’t see any other charges. I asked for the manager and on her arrival came A new attitude AND all those charges she Couldn’t see before. The manager explained to me that the employee at check in the day before didn’t charge Us correctly and explained the check in process for adding an extra day incorrectly. However, I believe that is a manager training issue not a customer issue so we shouldn’t have been charged the extra UNKNOWINGLY without at least a phone call or knock on our door explaining the situation. The solution was that she wrote the charges down on a sticky note for me to know what they are refunding because they have no way of letting the customer see any charges. Which to me Is insane that a customer has no right to a list of what they pay for.

  Really clean room. The property overall was outstanding. My only complaint was the coffee in the lobby was lukewarm. I found the open ended hallways to be a unique touch as well. Unfortunately it didn't rain during our stay, otherwise that would have been a neat experience. Before I booked our stay, I read some worrying reviews, many of which were posted recently, but I must say we didn't experience any of that. A nice room, friendly staff. And the cleaning crew were on top of their game for sure!

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect for our family. We walked everywhere to the beach, to celebration park pirate ship play ground and to dining in proximity. The hotel was nice and we really made good use of the pool and really enjoyed their breakfast which was a nice surprise. The rooms were a solid 3 of 5 stars, over all nice but some noticeable wear as others have mentioned. We agreed we definitely stay here again, however, next time we will be bringing a portable dehumidifier. The air conditioner kept the room cool but there was nothing to take care of the Hilton head humidity and our room was damp the whole stay, it felt like you couldn’t escape the humidity even in your own room. Overall our family really enjoyed our stay. We have been coming to HHI for decades and stayed all over but this location suited us best for what we like to do. Walkability score 10/5. Biscuits and gravy and pancake machine 5/5. Free cookies in the lobby 10/5. Enjoy your stay you all!

  I have to take a moment to recognize the incredible team at Holiday Inn Hilton, especially Sonia, Jeremy, and Tamara! Sonia was absolutely incredible from start to finish, and honestly, I have to reiterate that because her level of care and customer service truly set the tone for the entire experience. From the very beginning, this team's customer service was outstanding, and it made planning my clients wedding weekend such a smooth, positive experience. As a wedding and travel planner, I'm always evaluating properties to bring back to my clients, and I'm already planning visits to other properties in this brand based on the experience I had here. Jeremy, the manager went OUT OF HIS WAYYYYYY to accommodate my requests!!! Incredibly awesome!!! What really stood out to me, though, was something small but telling. One of the team members mentioned she was going out with a coworker after their shift, and honestly, that meant a lot to me. It says so much about the kind of environment this management team fosters, one where people genuinely enjoy working together. That culture shows up in how a team treats clients, and it absolutely showed here. Thank you, Sonia (again, absolutely incredible!!), Jeremy, and Tamara, for such a wonderful experience! 🩷
