  Spoke to Tara on the phone and had a few questions about booking and she was amazing in answering all of them and was very kind. Now we will have to see how nice the room will be come August.

  The hotel was nice, breakfast was decent. The staff were friendly for the most part. The pool was great and so was the location. The shuttle to the beach was also nice. We had 2 issues out of our two night stay. One: we woke up the first morning to find a roach in the room. Second issue: we ran out of bath towels and had an issue with that. Right before 2pm, my husband went down to ask for fresh towels and the lady in the lobby said they didn’t have any down there, she’d let housekeeping know to bring us some. About 20 minutes later, he called back down to the lobby to ask when we’d receive the towels because we were trying to get ready to go out for the day after being at the beach and pool. She said “we will give them time.” By 4pm, we still hadn’t been brought towels so my husband called back down again to let her know we still hadn’t received fresh towels and she said she’d let housekeeping know again. Finally, around 4:20pm housekeeping brought more towels. I was not pleased that we had to wait a little over 2 hours for fresh towels. They didn’t clean the room while we were there for our 2 night stay, which I didn’t mind that they didn’t come in to change the sheets but would’ve been nice to have automatically had fresh towels back in the room considering we only had 4 towels in there to start for 3 people and a 2 night stay. Edit to add: the website says “daily housekeeping” but that wasn’t the case for our room. We had no housekeeping the one full day we were there when our towels were not replenished. Overall, not happy with the price we paid for what we received. Edit: We emailed the manager and they responded back quickly. Their customer service exceeded my expectations.

  I was on vacation at Hilton Head Island on 06/11. Sabrina was working the front desk. It was busy, crowded, and she handled everything with grace and efficiently. They need to have more than one person at the desk. Sabrina was welcoming and has good customer service skills.

  I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Hilton Head Island June1-4, 2026. I’ve always been happy with HIE’s but this one was terrible. The carpet in the entire room was wet. They change my room and it was also wet (but better). The clerk said they had a big rain the day before and it’s a known problem because of the shade. I requested a discount if I were to stay. She agreed it was warranted but the GM agreed only to no parking fees ($30). When contacted by IHG CS she denied there was a problem. I guess I’m just a liar. So, I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. It was wet, nasty and management was not concerned about my comfort or experience. The hotel is older (not a problem), the elevators are slow (also not a problem, I took the stairs down), but wet carpet IS a problem, but they denied the problem existed. Very disappointing!

  Rooms are small with double bed, bathroom old fashion and small, when booking reservation I wasn't told I would have to pay $10 a night for parking even on the outside
