My friend got invited for an interview at a university in Charleston. Since they covered all the expenses, I was more than happy to tag along. We arrived late at night, so I couldn't see the surrounding area at all.
When morning came, I was pleasantly surprised. The view was absolutely stunning. The sunrise was breathtaking, I honestly don't remember the last time I saw one that beautiful.
Another thing I really appreciated about this hotel was the breakfast. I usually don't care much for hotel breakfasts in the US, but they served turkey ham here. It was great to see that kind of accommodation for people who don't eat pork. Wonderful!

Room looks great, Room 213, but the shower caves in like a v, reminds me of the hulk if a boat before you put a deck on it. Definitely not for elderly, I'm 50 and had a problem with the shower, just walking around in it I was about to fall and I'm 51. I keep hitting the wall with my arm while using the toilet. Can't easily pull toilet paper because if the design flaw.

The hotel looks interesting from the outside, and the location is actually quite convenient, with easy access to the freeway in either direction.
The rooms, however, could definitely use a major upgrade. The bathroom is outdated, and some fixtures are rusted or starting to fall apart. The balcony is locked, which I can understand for safety reasons, but it would be nice to at least be able to open the sliding door and let in some fresh air.
The linens are nothing special, but they are clean and white, and the bed is comfortable. There is also plenty of parking, which is a plus.
Overall, I would consider this a solid 3-star hotel. It is comfortable enough for a stay and conveniently located, but the rooms are definitely showing their age and would benefit from renovation.

Everything about the stay was fine. The shuttle service is nice. The front desk employees are very nice. Just make sure you don’t accidentally leave something behind because you won’t get it back. It won’t get turned in to lost and found. I checked out on Sunday, called approximately 4 hours after checking out after realizing i left something in the closet. I was willing to pay for it to get shipped back to me. I called for 4 days looking for an answer. Finally on the 5th day i get a call from the head of house keeping saying nothing was turned in. I know for a fact i left this item in the closet, so house keeping does not check the closets. Even though the manager will try to guarantee it. I can promise you they don’t because they would’ve found my item if they did. Very frustrating that it took 5 days for them to tell me my item was not in the closet or turned in. The head of house keeping told me that “housekeeping HAS to check closets and everything down to the ironing boards every time.” Just because they should doesn’t mean they DO. Very unfortunate the experience turned bad after the stay and I’m down an item that i tried to get back the day i left. I do understand it’s my fault for leaving it but i tried to be proactive that same day. I waited a full week to see if maybe it would show up but it did not, so here’s my review.

Our family recently stayed here under circumstances we never imagined. My 8-year-old son had just suffered a traumatic injury and was recovering after being treated at MUSC Children’s Hospital.
When we arrived, he shared his story with the front desk and mentioned that he hoped, after everything he had been through, he might have a room with a beautiful view. To our surprise, they made it happen. That view became a place of peace for him as he rested and began to recover.
Every single staff member we encountered was incredibly kind, compassionate, and encouraging. During a time when our family was emotionally and physically exhausted, their genuine care meant more than they will ever know.
A special thank you to the restaurant staff. They never rushed us, and they took the time to listen as my son happily shared story after story with them. What may have seemed like a simple conversation to them was actually a huge part of his healing. After such a traumatic experience, helping him smile, laugh, and feel heard was a priceless gift.
Because of the way we were cared for, this hotel will always hold a special place in our hearts. As we return to Charleston for future appointments at MUSC, we already know where we’ll stay. This hotel has become our safe haven—a place of comfort, kindness, and healing during one of the hardest seasons of our lives.
Thank you for reminding our family that compassion still exists and that the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference. We look forward to returning under much happier circumstances. ❤️
