  Stayed here while exploring Newport and overall it was a good stay. Check-in was quick and the front desk staff were friendly and kind. There was complimentary lemon water and cookies in the lobby which was a nice touch. The location worked well for everything we wanted to do. It was about 10 minutes to Easton's Beach and roughly 15 minutes to Second Beach, the Wharf area, and The Breakers. Our room was super clean and well equipped. It had a microwave, mini fridge, safe, ironing board, and an adjustable TV. The bed was comfortable. They even provided complimentary toothbrushes and toothpaste when we asked which I appreciated. The bathroom was fine overall. The tub area could use some updating, but everything else was clean. I was also happy they stocked Dove soap, shampoo, and conditioner. There were plenty of towels. A couple of things could be improved. We booked two queen beds but they felt more like full-size beds. Also, I wish there had been a nightstand on each side of the beds instead of just one shared table in the middle. The gym had free weights along with the usual cardio equipment so it covered the basics. The indoor pool was my biggest disappointment. The description advertised a "heated pool," so I was expecting the water itself to be warm and comfortable to get into. Instead, it was the pool room that was heated, not the water. Ironically, the warm room made the pool water feel even colder by comparison. They did keep towels stocked in the pool area though which was nice since you didn't have to go to the front desk to ask for them. Breakfast was pretty barebones but it had everything you'd reasonably need. There were three juices, cereals, a pancake machine, eggs, potatoes, turkey sausage, pork sausage, frittata, yogurt, muffins, bagels, toast, jam, and coffee available 24/7. I also liked that everything was clearly labeled. I've stayed at more expensive hotels that offered less so I was perfectly happy with it. There was seating both inside and outside. Overall, this hotel did a lot of little things right. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, the location was convenient, and the amenities covered the essentials. My biggest complaints were the cold pool, the smaller than expected beds, and the lack of a nightstand on both sides of the bed. I'd happily stay here again.

  Probably the nicest holiday inn express we've stayed in and the location is great. The breakfast was about par for hotel breakfasts, but it was edible. I would definitely stay here again.

  Great location. Very close to downtown Newport. Easy drive to Providence. Staff was very friendly. Free breakfast. Pancake machine is a disaster. It would be better if they heated up frozen pancakes in the back and kept it in a warmer. Machine wasn't always working. It's nice that they have a coffee machine to use 24/7. Chili's is in the same parking lot, and there is a pizza and Chinese place next door. Also other fast food places within a mile down the road. Great location, great staff, great rooms. Would definitely stay again.

  I had such a wonderful stay here and everything was just perfect. The room was super clean and comfortable, and the breakfast in the morning was exactly what I needed to start the day. The staff were all so welcoming and helpful throughout my entire trip, making me feel right at home.
