A Good Family Hotel, but Some Improvements Are Needed
The hotel is very nice and has pleasant decor. The rooms are a little small, but they are well decorated overall, and the bed was comfortable.
However, I noticed several things that could be improved:
🌡️ Thermostat: The wall thermostat for the air conditioning was not working. I had to control the temperature manually from the actual AC unit.
🛁 Bathroom: The bathroom has a somewhat rustic style and was missing some important fixtures, such as the drain covers for the sink and bathtub. This can be a concern, especially for families with children, because small items such as a ring could easily fall down the drain. The battery cover was also missing from one of the controls.
🏊 Pool: The pool was not available during my stay. I really wanted to swim but wasn’t able to. We were told it would open at 10:00 a.m., but it never opened. I also feel that opening the pool at 10:00 a.m. is too late for many guests. If I want to swim after going to the gym early in the morning, I don’t want to have to wait until 10:00 a.m. 🤯
🍳 Breakfast: The breakfast was okay, but the woman working the breakfast area seemed to be handling almost everything by herself. It was difficult to keep the food stocked, and sometimes items would run out and guests had to wait quite a while for them to be refilled. At one point, I waited more than 20 minutes for some items to be replenished.
☕ Coffee: The coffee machine is excellent. It would be even better if they offered regular whole milk alongside it instead of only the small processed creamer portions.
👩💼 Front Desk: The morning front-desk employee was not particularly friendly. Her tone and facial expressions made the interaction feel somewhat cold.
Overall: I think the Holiday Inn Express brand is a good choice for families, but this particular location needs to improve some basic maintenance and service details. These are small things that, with a little more attention, could make a significant difference in the guest experience.

This was actually a good hotel to stay at while travelling south. The rooms are clean, water pressure is good and it’s close enough to things that you can get dinner. We actually had a mountain facing view which was stunning!
I was a bit unlucky because my room was close to the elevator so I got woken up by bells and digs at 6:30AM. I can see how that could have been incredibly irritating.
The breakfast was good, but some things weren’t working, like the waffle maker. Some food wasn’t replenished as quickly as it probably should have been. Coffee was surprisingly good!

Stopped here just for 1 night on our way to New England areas. The location is kinda sketchy, the road coming up is over grown and not very welcoming. The lobby is nice and the gentleman at the desk was nice and friendly. The rooms aren't bad, but they could use a little work. The air conditioner didn't work well, we had to drop the temperature to 66 just to get it to come on and it didn't cool it to 66. The bathroom vanity left a bit to be desired (pics included). Some of the guests were gathered outside at night and it was a bit sketchy. There were a lot of overgrown weeds around the building.
