Virginia at the front desk was excellent! We stayed for my son’s birthday, and she went above and beyond to make him feel special throughout the day. Her kindness and fantastic customer service made our stay even more memorable. Thank you, Virginia!

Let me start off by saying when I see good service I go out of my way to acknowledge it and very rarely do I go out of my way to acknowledged bad service because I believe some people just have bad days . We took a trip to Pittsburg to watch the pirates game . Here’s how this goes . You’re paying a premium for the hotel because it’s game night no biggie $500 plus for the room . While parking it was to get a pass from the hotel desk for parking side note there is a sign that says $20 for parking the hotel charge you $28 . We walk in during a shift change and wait in line for 10 minutes the line starts building the staff sits around and high fives and lolly gags around while the one guy working is clearly overwhelmed . It’s now our turn he says we need to wait for the next staff who barely speaks to us and mean while 5 people in line 4 staff members standing there 1 still working. As I always tell people hey I like to be aware of my surroundings there is no sign on the 2nd floor even telling you where the elevator is . That’s insane what if there is a fire ??? We get into the room and there is a human white sock over the fire alarm a literal human sock . Clearly no one pays attention cleaning the rooms . Try to let it go as we are busy people and try and enjoy our time off from the office . Go to the game and come back there are 30 people in the lobby waiting for the elevator.. I ask the women at the front who is still rude where the stairs are she proceeds to tell me around the corner . I go to use my room key to access the stair well and it doesn’t work . Walk back to the front and the gentleman tells me that the key code reader doesn’t work for the stairwell. So we can’t use it . Another fire hazard should of just called Pittsburg FD right then and there cause i was beyond annoyed . Expressed my disappointment to the gentleman who had nothing to say . After finally getting to our room i call IHG directly and talk to a representative about how poorly this location was to deal with . She says I’ll transfer you to an IHG manager . Sure why not at 11 pm at night . She transfers me to the front desk where the same gentleman proceeds to answer the phone like it’s his personal cell phone and then acts shocked that they even transferred me to their store I ask him what time a manager is coming in he says i don’t know they come in at either 9 or 10 whenever they feel like it . lol thought it was a complete joke . Call IHG back get another rep on the phone she doesn’t know how to transfer a call ? Never even heard of that . Then try’s and the call fails . I think speak to one that tells me she’s going to reach out to a chain manager and they will talk to me to hang up and they’ll call me we are now 20 hours later never heard from anyone . I have been a rewards member for a few years IGH and a few other hotel brands and have never seen more of a hazard or poor quality then the IHG here on federal street . I doubt we will even get a call . I wouldn’t play it off if you are traveling with your family I’d think twice if those issues are what I could visually see in a short stay I can’t imagine what is really going on .

I usually do not leave reviews since 99% of my stays at any hotel have been wonderful. This time was incredibly frustrating.
Absolutely worst service. They charged me $28 for parking. I did not use their parking service. I called to dispute the charge. This was after I told them on check in AND on check out that I did not use their parking lot. They provided me an updated receipt refunding the $28 BUT I never actually received the funds to my credit card. I called back multiple times. Eventually I was able to get ahold of the assistant manager (I think his name is Josh Park). He said that someone will have to call me back tomorrow. I've been waiting since 7/19 to have this resolved and they keep giving me the turnaround. Then the assistant manager simply hung up. When I called again they said that he had left the building...at 2pm? The front desk service, I think her name was Sheliah? She also answered my call with a poor attitude. I had called in the morning and at that time she politely responded the manager would call me later. When I did not hear back I called again and she answered annoyed, "Yes...you're calling about your $28 again..." Extremely poor service.
I was able to call my credit card company directly. Supplied them the receipt from the hotel that I would be credited back the parking fee. The credit card company confirmed I did not receive the credit yet, and they would void the charge. I stayed at this hotel during Picklesburgh and the issue did not get resolved until a month later.
This was a lot of work for $28. We called higher management service to complain about the service but I doubt will change anything. Would HIGHLY advise staying at another hotel if you can. I did not realize until today but there are multiple reviews complaining about the poor front desk service.

One star for the front desk staff. Unfortunately, they were unwelcoming and came across as rude, which made for a disappointing first impression. The property itself is fine and is conveniently located in downtown North Shore. The rooms are okay, and parking is available for an additional $28. Overall, while the location is good, the poor customer service at the front desk significantly impacted our stay.
