At the initial meeting, we were told the upstairs barn area would have heaters for our fall wedding reception. The ceremony was originally supposed to be held outside, but we decided to do that on the INSIDE bottom of the barn area and they were kind enough to accommodate this decision for us pretty short notice the evening before the wedding. )This area has heat, so it worked out better being that it was so windy outside. However, the reception was ALWAYS supposed to be in the UPSTAIRS barn area. This is where we were told there would be large standing heaters. The night before the wedding, I ask about the heaters and I’m told there are no heaters. Not sure where the mix up happened but I wouldn’t have picked this barn venue for a November wedding had I known that there would be not heat in the reception area. Guests froze all night and I felt terrible. Bridal suite was also freezing (only heat was a small space heater that couldn’t keep up) so we did most of our getting ready in the bedrooms. Maybe things have changed since, but I wouldn’t recommend for a fall or winter wedding. Kitchen was unfortunately very dirty when we got there, so my mother and Aunt wiped it down before it was used. Kitchen floor was also very sticky. Owners were nice enough but it just wasn’t a great experience, especially for the amount of money we paid for it. I see other reviews are great so maybe it was just an off weekend? Not sure. They called after seeing my review and offered my husband and I a night there for our anniversary. I’m not really interested in going back, but I appreciate them calling and trying to offer a solution.

We were going to stay here but after calling and finding out they are not gay friendly, we decided not to stay. We called and asked if they are gay friendly. The lady on the phone's voice changed immediately and became very cold. She stated that, while she and her family, basically, are NOT gay, but they would not turn us away if we chose to stay there. It was her sudden change in voice tone and manner that made it quite obvious we would not be welcome to stay there.
Don't need to spend our hard earned money where it isn't wanted!

This bed and breakfast has now become our destination every time my family to Lancaster county. This my 3rd time here and Amber has always been a great host. She has great communication, and has been extremely accommodating. The rooms are clean and spacious and have everything we need. The scenery and landscaping make you feel like you’re in a resort. I have 3 little boys and she even went as far as bringing the baby goats to the door for the kids to carry and pet. Definitely our home away from home.
