  We stayed at the Holiday Inn near Dunmore, PA while we were at a family reunion. Only problem was we had 3 rooms, two for a longer stay and one for a shorter stay, since my son and his family had to return before the rest of us. At checkin, he got one of the rooms for 5 nights and my wife and I got the room for 3 nights, which meant we had ti change rooms for the last two nights.

  The room was clean enough, the restaurant was good. I’m not sure why they allow guys to smoke weed by the front door. It’s bad for business. Three times I went out to my car and there was a group of guys smoking weed by the front door while families with children were coming in and out. I asked the girl at the desk if that was OK and she said absolutely not, but didn’t do anything about it. Overall, not such a great place.

  Service at the hotel and restaurant was personable and quick. The restaurant and bar were also reasonably priced for a hotel. The hotel itself is in a convenient location and the dining room does have good views of the surrounding hills! The room was slightly disappointing, nothing crazy but the adjoining doors let in a lot of sound and you could hear everyone in all the rooms around you. Definitely need some better sound proofing.

  When I spoke with the evening desk person. I asked for the price and she stated $179. I asked about an AARP discount, and she searched on her computer and stated it would be $110 plus tax. As a result, we stayed. The next morning when I turned the keys in, the lady printed out my receipt and it was $179. I told her about the previous evening and was told that the night desk should not have said that and even if the discount was available (it was a Friday evening), it would only be about $5. She stated she would have her manager call that day and 4 days later, still no call. The place was clean and the bed was comfortable, but I think the statements made and lack of follow up call make this a 2 star review. My point, verify and get a quote printed out. There is obviously a disconnect

  Thursday, August 6, 2026 - The place is unclean you smell the pool as soon as you walk in, no one at the front desk for check-in for 8 minutes, then when checked in, they couldn’t explain how to get to the room. Wayfinding is horrible. Told me to go in through Door E, should have been Door C. Door E was blocked by “Do not cross” tape. Room was hot, A/C was only half working. Carpet felt wet, and sticky. Door to the bathroom doesn’t close over the opening. No one available at check-out. If you want to relive your fraternity days, then this is the place for you. If you want to sleep in a “semi-clean” environment, without a bunch of drunken slobs, then go to any other hotel, or sleep in your car…. Would have been better. If I could give zero stars I would. Makes me want to give up my IHG account.
