I stayed here for work and the service was great. The ladies on the front desk were very friendly and accommodating with our work needs. The room was spacious and clean. There is also a restaurant in the lobby that is pretty good and convenient if you don't want to leave or don't have easy transportation.

DISAPPOINTING.
This was the worst experience I have had at any Holiday Inn and far below the standards I expect from IHG.
Throughout my stay, the Wi-Fi in my room was unreliable, constantly disconnecting. On July 3, breakfast at 9:30 AM was poorly stocked, with almost no fruit, no yogurt, and little food remaining.
Later that morning, the front desk associate was discourteous while assisting with a pool reservation and complained about the system in front of my wife and children.
I also attempted to work from the Business Center, but the Wi-Fi did not work there either.
When I asked for help, the front desk simply told me they could not assist if I couldn’t connect to the IHG network, showing no empathy or willingness to help.
That afternoon, our room had not been cleaned, and the beds were never made.
On July 4, breakfast was even worse. The buffet lacked bread, fruit, utensils, and coffee cups. During the 45 minutes we were there, almost nothing was replenished.
The breakfast attendant was unfriendly, ignored requests, and only provided utensils for two people although we were a family of four.
When I reported these issues to the front desk and asked to speak with a manager, I was told the managers were unavailable and was simply directed back to the breakfast employee, with no apology or ownership actually she said that she was only responsible for front desk not for restaurant… while I replied that anyone is a Holiday Inn employee for me. She does not represent the brand.
Have management spent time observing the hotel’s morning operations?
These repeated failures point to serious issues with customer service, breakfast operations, housekeeping, and Wi-Fi reliability.

My husband and I stayed here June 23-27, 2026. It's a lovely property. The entire front desk, bar, restaurant and sitting area are very welcoming. There's a lit of history in the pictures all over the walls.
I want to sincerely thank Lai for not only her professionalism but her friendliness and willingness to go the extra mile. Also, Ashley and Brian were equally welcoming. On the night I could not sleep and went downstairs to walk around, Kevin was a friendly person to talk with.
I am very impressed with the employees.
We will definitely stay here in the future.

Tucked Away Gem
If you are looking for a nice hotel just outside of Philly, the Holiday Inn Drexel Hill is the place for you. It's close to Rt. 476, which can quickly take you into the city or deeper into the burbs. Shopping is very close. A supermarket and a few strip malls are minutes away. This hotel is tucked away in a quiet apartment complex. In addition to the area being quiet, the hotel itself is quiet and they enforce posted quiet hours. Outside, the rear of the property has beautiful trees, grass, and the Darby creek. I often see non-guests walking, jogging, sitting on the grass, or even doing some fly fishing in the creek. If you come at the right hour, you will see deer feeding, geese waddling, chipmunks sprinting across the parking lot, or a fox walking by. The area is welcoming to humans and wildlife alike.
The hotel has plenty of FREE parking. While their attached banquet hall draws crowds on the weekends, I still found it easy to find a place to park.
My wife and I stayed at the hotel for several months while our home was being repaired. During this time, we got to really see the hotel at various hours.
The staff is great!
They have 24/7 front desk staff. Regardless of the hour, you are greeted with a smile and hello. I noticed this early on. Then, after a month or so, we were greeted by name. Need something in the morning? Ask for Prima or Zyla. If it's the evening, Lai will assist you.
Again the hotel staff is great. I listed their names in the review sections and I tried to acknowledge everyone I interacted with. I apologize if I missed anyone.
There are just a few things I can think of that need improvement:
- Better cooling in the hallways: On hot days, the hallways are very humid, while the rooms and first-floor lobby/restaurant area are cool and comfortable.
- Better Wi-Fi in the restaurant area: It was spotty in this area. Maybe it's by design so you can focus on eating and ordering more drinks.
- A payment alternative for the guest laundry: A change machine for the washer & dryer or a credit/debit card option would be great. I didn't use the washer and dryer, but I find it odd for an otherwise cashless (front desk) hotel to not provide a non-cash payment option for laundry.
- More dietary options: Better vegan and vegetarian options on the main and happy hour menus as well as a vegan or vegetarian substitute for the weekday dinner specials (e.g., Monday's wings).
We are a CHOP family and came for a very early morning appt, this hotel was close without having us somewhere crowded downtown. The hotel is very clean, quiet, and next to a little river that we got to take a walk by. Staff is adorable, always smiling and kind, Bryan went above and beyond for our family when I got myself in a bind and I didn't even ask, that tells you how much this staff cares about people . This will be our new home away from home from now on. Being a CHOP family can be stressful and exhausting so being treated with kindness and having a place to truly rest is priceless. Thank you team, this mom appreciated everything!
