  My husband and I stayed overnight and our suite was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The staff were highly friendly and accommodating, especially being pet friendly. The only drawback was not enough lighting in back and on the side of the building. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. We plan to stay here again on our future vacations.

  Only the location can be considered a positive here. Building looks 15 years old already (it is less than 1 year old) because I'm guessing the lowest bidder cut a ton of corners building it, smelled of drywall, paint and nasty cleaner, lighting is 'hospital-esque' and the finishes were as cheap and flimsy as they come. Bed wasn't comfortable, water was just ok and the parking lot was very dark. However the most negative aspect to me was that I thought this was a separate building from the "avid" hotel, however it is not. Everything outside the bedroom door was the same, no matter if you paid extra to stay in the 'nicer' hotel. This is such a bait and switch. It really sours me on all the IHG brands tbh. Also, first room was dirty, second room they gave me was OCCUPIED! Third room was where we stayed. I did a thorough bug check and there was no evidence of bed bugs, for anyone on here checking the review for info on that. To me that can be counted as a positive in an area with many hotels that seem to suffer from this.

  We have a very nice stay at this hotel. It is really close to Penn State, very convenient and a great choice. Rooms are pretty, and very clean. There is even have a recliner in the room to watch TV. The littel kitchenette has verything you need to cook if you want to. It also has a regular size refrigerator. The entrance has some nice chairs. My only criticism is if you are disabled there are a little on the way to the entrance. If you bring luggage, you have to roll your cart into the parking lot because the chairs block the sidewalk. We didn't interact much with the staff nor we had breakfast here. I will recommend the hotel for a visit to State College.

  I arrived late with a group on buisness. We had originally booked at another hotel, but found it not to our standards. So we arrived late, tired, & a bit frustrated. Colin, who worked the overnights, greeted us with a smile. He was very accommodating to a needy group and changed our entire mood. While informing us of breakfast times, we mentioned we'd miss that as we had to be up & out early each day. The next morning, to our surprise, he had put breakfast out a little early. It meant a lot that he took the time to do that. And again, his whole demeanor changed the mood of a fussy group. Great job, Colin!

  The staff here are amazing and friendly. I am here on an extended stay and they have managed any issues I had and always with a smile on their face. The lobby has breakfast daily, a swimming pool a gym and even a grill area outside. Super busy with people working in the area but everyone is friendly and accommodating.
