  Rooms had a bad smell, heater and A/C were broken and the hotel staff said there was no way for them to fix it. We were supposed to stay here for 4 nights but ended up leaving early and staying somewhere else. Front desk staff were unhelpful

  We booked a 4-night stay here while visiting friends and family in the area. We originally were supposed to stay with family, but we opted for a hotel to get a bit more privacy—though honestly, in hindsight, we probably should have just stayed with family! 😅 Location-wise, it was super convenient and really easy to get to, right off the I-5. It was only about a 5-minute drive to the Woodburn Premium Outlets, and local stores and places to eat were super close by. Free parking on-site was great too, with heaps of spaces and no valet needed at all. Check-in was lovely and easy—the receptionist was super friendly and offered lots of tips on things to see in the area. The room itself was clean and very spacious, and the mini-fridge had ample room for our stuff alongside the microwave. Wi-Fi was solid with no issues, and housekeeping was fantastic, keeping everything neat and cleaned each day of our stay. Unfortunately, sleep comfort and the room itself were a bit of a letdown. The mattress was okay, but the bedding was odd—the "duvet" was essentially a blanket sandwiched between two flat sheets. The pillows were small, flat, and super uncomfortable (honestly felt like sleeping on a rolled-up hoodie!). There were no spare pillows available when we asked, but the staff were lovely and gave us a throw blanket to bunch up for extra support instead, which was sweet of them. The noise levels made resting tough. The window didn't seal shut properly—when you pressed down on the frame you could hear the freeway traffic quieten right down, but it wouldn't stay, so road noise from the I-5 was definitely noticeable. My husband could also faintly hear snoring coming through the wall from the next room. To top it off, the AC unit was loud as, and not in a nice way where you could use it as white noise—we couldn't sleep with it running at all. The TV setup in our room was trash. Even with our devices on the hotel Wi-Fi, we couldn't AirPlay or screen mirror at all. The room’s device wouldn't even show up on our phones (we tested both iPhone and Android), yet we could see heaps of other guest rooms pop up on the list! We called the front desk for help, but they couldn't get it working either and basically left us with a "good luck." The TV didn't even have standard built-in apps like Netflix, so we literally had to use YouTube and subscribe to Paramount+ just to stream movies, which was very annoying. They offered complimentary breakfast, but we didn't end up having it. Keep in mind the pool and hot tub are outdoors—a bit of a bummer considering Northern Oregon weather. It was raining during our stay so the pool couldn't be used at all, though the hot tub is covered so you can still hop in. In the bathroom, shower pressure and temperature were good. The shower curtain didn't contain water well unless you stuck it flat to the wall tiles, and the towels were quite rough and scratchy, but they did the job. Overall, it's a super convenient location with lovely, accommodating staff, but between the dodgy window seal, roaring AC, weird bedding, and the frustrating TV situation, it didn't quite hit the mark for a restful stay.
