Do NOT stay here. Our assigned room smelled like a wet dog. We went straight back to the desk to request a refund because we have asthma in the family and can't risk a dirty room. We explained this to the clerk who smirked and said she could give us another room. We said we were uncomfortable with that since the room smelled so bad and explained about asthma. She said, "Well, bye." We drove another hour and a half to a clean Best Western in Baker City with friendly staff. I suggest you do the same!

I recently had the pleasure of being a guest at this location. I was traveling through the Ontario area for work. My reservation was a last minute option and when I arrived, the tone of my entire stay was immediately set by Shaddele who was the receptionist on duty. She greeted us with a genuine smile and appeared to show true pride in her job. Throughout my stay I had multiple interactions with Mike from the maintenance department and the general manager Jen. I also saw many interactions among the housekeeping staff. Through each of these interactions, I saw that the employment culture seemed to be one where every person was happy to be there and took pride in the job that they were doing. I typically work nights and I greatly appreciated the efforts that were made to provide an early check-in if it was at all possible. Because I work nights, there is one minor thing that I would like to see changed through the entire Best Western chain and not just this facility. Although the curtains are blackout design, they are never positioned in a way to block out all of the light. I would prefer a pull down blackout shade like a couple of other hotel chains use. With that said, I had the advantage of a suite type room where I could close the dividing door and could rest on the couch for a little while as I waited for the bedroom to become darker. This facility is conveniently located within walking distance of many stores and food establishments and has a large parking area specifically designated for large trucks and RVs. There is also plenty of parking with multiple building entrances near the rooms. It has inexpensive guest laundry. I personally did not make use of the pool or hot tub area, but I did see other guests enjoying that space. By appearance, the pool area matched the rest of the facility by appearing clean and well kept. The breakfast area is a bit small and can easily become congested as guests are entering and exiting while others are getting their food. This hotel does not have elevators so the second floor is accessed by stairways only. While in the lobby area, I overheard the staff mention this fact to guests who had called in when they asked the guests if they had a floor preference. I noticed 2 rooms on the first floor identified as handicap accessible rooms. Both of these rooms appeared easy to access. Because of the previously mentioned space constraints, the breakfast area did not appear to be as easy to maneuver a wheelchair in. Also, the main entry door is an automatic sensor operated double wide doorway. In the event that the sensor is either turned off or not working this doorway might be a little more difficult to navigate when only opening one of the doors. While I pointed out a couple of shortcomings, the overall positive experience far outweighed those issues for me. If I happen to come back to Ontario, I would be quite happy to stay here again and again.

The hotel is older and needs updating. Outlets for charging devices are not conveniently placed in the room. It was clean and the staff was helpful. Breakfast buffet was good, but lacked some choices. No muffins, but Hostess cupcakes.

There were problems with the front desk. They seemed to be confused about processing my credit card. The room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast was as expected. Lots of parking.

Older hotel but quite well maintained, no elevator. Room is small. Bed is way too soft/bouncy, hard to get a good night sleep when your partner moves/gets in & out of the bed. Breakfast is sufficient but the room is small. No fitness room but a pool.
