- HHHeather HuritaMar 13, 20262.0The room was located directly across from the kitchen, and unfortunately every morning the kitchen door is propped open while staff talk and prepare breakfast. Beginning around 6:00 a.m., you can clearly hear pans banging, washed and conversations echoing down the hallway. I’m not sure why the kitchen needs vents (propped open with a can) directly into the hallway where guest rooms are located, but it makes it very difficult to sleep during the hours when they are preparing the “complimentary breakfast.” Another recurring issue was the room keys needing to be re-coded daily. When this happens you have to go to the front desk to get them fixed. If guests are checking in, you’ll wait while those check-ins are completed, which can take quite a while. It also felt like staff were irritated when guests needed assistance just to access their rooms. I also tried to purchase something from the small store in the lobby. It took nearly 10 minutes for the system to ring it up and process the transaction, which seemed frustrating for the staff as well. Lastly, not entirely the hotel’s fault, but the room had kids next door and heavy footsteps from the room above, so the overall noise level was not great. Overall, between the hallway noise from the kitchen, key card issues, and thin walls, the stay was not as comfortable as I had hoped
