  Nice, clean room. Great amenities. Right beside a Chevron, and across from a Wal-Mart. Pretty easy on/off freeway access.

  This is a really good location for the area and the room was very clean and updated. They have a full breakfast that is well stocked and tastes good.

  My family and I stayed two nights in Hood River. Check-in time is 4 PM. However, we had to wait until 5:15 PM for our rooms to be ready. That was a bummer. The manager, Josh, did his best, though, to make things right. He offered snacks and gave us regular updates. The pool and hot tub were closed the day before the 4th of July. That was too bad. The hotel's location is on a busy street, sandwiched between a Chevron gas station and a Taco Bell. Our view literally stared 10 yards into the drive-through menu. We did not spend time in the immediate neighborhood. :) Overall, there were snafus with the hotel, but we still had a lovely time. The hotel offers great value. The rooms were very clean. The customer service was nice. The free breakfast was above average. We would come back.

  I first went to review the hotel on yelp, when I realized that six months ago another guest had already called them out for the same issue. Unfortunately six months later, and on a holiday weekend, our breakfast experience was identical. That points to poor management. At 9:20, the breakfast attendant was literally hovering over guests. The provisions were down to the nub and the eggs were gone. I asked if there were more. “No, breakfast ends in 10 minutes.” Okay—so in 10 minutes, stop making eggs. But we paid for a hotel with breakfast included, not for a complimentary breakfast. At 9:25 she was circling the room pulling dishes off tables, and at 9:30 to the second she closed and locked the buffet door—while my toast was still in the toaster on the other side. Housekeeping was the same story: the sheets were half-heartedly straightened (not made), a stack of towels was dropped on the uncleaned bathroom counter, and that was it. We might be back, but if we are, we will plan around a hotel that seems to run on the mentality that the guests are an inconvenience.
