We had a reservation while driving from Bend when our car broke down around 9pm. Stranded and on a limited budget, we called the front desk to ask if there was any possibility of a refund or credit. What we got instead was rudeness, zero empathy, and ultimately having the phone hung up on us. Hoping that was a one-off, I called the next day to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, the experience was just as bad: dismissive, uncaring, and completely uninterested in helping or retaining customers. I understand hotels have policies. What’s inexcusable is treating people like they’re an inconvenience — especially in a situation completely outside their control. There are plenty of comparable mid-range hotels nearby that actually value basic human decency. Spend your money elsewhere.
