Landan (and all staff) was so friendly checking us in and helping us with whatever we needed. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was wonderful! We loved seeing and hearing the sea lions. The 24 hrs gym pool and hot tub was amazing for us!!! We would definitely stay here again.
This room is so stinky. The air is thick and musty to the point of being difficult to breathe. Really my only complaint.

I was expecting more after we paid over $700 to stay there two nights. I realize it is the peak of salmon fishing season and this is price gouging at its best. But, we found That someone had pried our screen from the outside when we went to open the window to remove the dank musty smell from our room. It assaults you the second you open the door. Needless to say, we did not leave the window open. Breakfast in the morning was extremely disappointing. The apple juice was watered down, the yogurt machine was completely empty. You had the choice of a bagel/biscuit or the eggs and sausage. It was first thing in the morning, so one would expect that breakfast area would be freshened and ready for action. Disappointingly, no.
The staff that we dealt with were all polite. I don’t put this on them. Management should be doing a better job. And the price gouging is frankly disgusting.

Made reservation well in advance through booking.com. Used the booking app to pay in full one hour before check in. At the check in desk the staff member asked me for my card for payment, I told him I paid in full an hour ago through the app. He said I definitely don’t see anything about a payment in the system. So I pulled out my phone and showed him the payment confirmation with details, time stamp, balance paid, balance due, location, dates etc. He reiterated he didn’t see it in the system and in the same breath told me he was going to run the payment. Then he asked me to check to see if it “double dinged” me, like the only way to know was to just run it again and check my bank account. Sure enough, he charged me twice despite me having just shown him company letterhead e-mail documentation that I had already been charged and owed nothing. He then said “that’s the problem with using 3rd parties for booking, it didn’t update in our system. You’ll PROBABLY get a refund when you checkout, sorry about that”. Insinuating the problem is my fault for using booking.com, now $600 of my vacation money is held hostage for 48 hours and there is absolutely nothing this guy can do about it except apologize because he didn’t take an extra 2 minutes to verify the payment. I called corporate customer service and they told me the same thing, sorry nothing we can do about it. The TV in the bedroom would turn on but wouldn’t connect to any network or apps so we couldn’t watch it. When I told the front desk they apologized and said there wasn’t anything they could do about it besides move us to a smaller room. Dishes in the kitchen suite were dirty. Hope you love beige on browns, every interior color is tan and tope. It’s dark inside even with all the lights on.

As much as possible, I always try to book a Best Western hotel. We stayed one night last week. We paid a lot more than usual for a room with a king size bed. Check-in in was fine, and the room was clean and comfortable. So that is normal and to be expected.
So, for as much as we paid, I figured breakfast would be much better than other Best Western hotels we stayed at. Not the case, at all. We arrived 30 minutes before breakfast closed. The dining area was small, relative to all the guests wanting breakfast. The egg and sausage trays were completely empty, with the trays still sitting there.
One would think that if the kitchen staff were performing their duties, they would be visible to us, and had already pulled the empty trays to replenish. But no. I had to notify the breakfast staff by walking into their kitchen area, since they were not visible. There were two people, chatting with each other. They did not appear busy doing anything. I was told they would replenish. We had to wait 15 minutes before anything came out. Tables needed to be cleaned, and counters needed to be wiped as well.
My whole issue was that, again, for the price we paid last week, breakfast was mediocre; breakfast area was small; and breakfast staff unattentive. The free breakfasts are the main reason I always try to book at BW. Specifically, this particular experience was a big let down for me. In general, I wish BW would increase the quality of their breakfast, specifically the eggs that they serve at the majority of their hotels.
