I have never felt so disrespected or unwelcome at a hotel in my life. This was genuinely one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had, and I would strongly encourage anyone considering staying here to think twice before booking.
On the morning of checkout, I woke up around 10:30 a.m. and immediately booked another two-night stay because I had originally planned to continue staying at the hotel. While I was packing, an employee working the morning shift knocked on my door at 11:00 a.m. to let me know it was checkout time and that they needed the room cleaned. I politely apologized, explained that I had just booked another two-night stay, and told her I was actively packing and would be out as quickly as possible.
Instead of allowing me a few minutes to finish packing, the same employee came back to my room three more times while I was still gathering my belongings. Each interaction became increasingly rude and hostile. She even threatened to call the police on me, despite the fact that I had already explained the situation, was cooperating, and was in the process of leaving.
I was staying with my sister and her boyfriend. Although the reservation was under my name, my sister paid the security deposit and provided her ID when she did so. Even so, the employee gave my sister a hard time about the room and acted as though she wasn’t associated with the reservation. We understood that the reservation was in my name, but since she had paid the deposit and provided identification during check-in, the way she was treated only added to an already frustrating situation.
Once I finished packing, I decided that after being treated that way, I no longer wanted to stay there. I went to the front desk to ask about canceling the reservation I had just made and getting a refund. I remained calm, respectful, and simply wanted to discuss my options. Instead, I was told I was “trying to argue,” and the employee walked away from me while I was speaking instead of helping me. At no point was I yelling, disrespectful, or causing a scene—I was simply asking about canceling the reservation because of how I had just been treated.
As I left the hotel, I saw police officers at the front entrance. Calling the police over someone who was already packing, leaving the room, and trying to resolve the situation professionally at the front desk was completely unnecessary and an unbelievable overreaction.
Yes, I understand that checkout time was 11:00 a.m., and I was a few minutes past it while finishing packing. But there is a huge difference between enforcing a checkout policy and treating a paying guest with disrespect, hostility, repeated harassment, and threats of police involvement. No customer deserves to be treated that way.
I also noticed that when this hotel receives negative reviews, the owner often responds by accusing guests of lying or claiming the reviews are fake instead of taking accountability. If that happens with this review, it will only reinforce the concerns that other guests have already expressed. This review is an honest account of my personal experience.
To anyone considering staying here: there are plenty of hotels that appreciate their guests and know how to treat people with respect. Based on my experience, this is not one of them. I will never stay here again, and I strongly recommend spending your money somewhere else.
