  I stayed here as an FAA Academy trainee, so this review will be through that lens. Please note: If you are an incoming FAA Academy student, the daily rate for this property is above the maximum that the FAA will pay for your housing. As of May 2026, the daily rate at this property is $90. A little more than $20 above what the FAA will pay. You will pay the difference out of pocket. First the pros: 1. Location. You are 10-15 minutes away from the FAA Academy. You also have access to plenty of restaurant options on Meridian Ave and grocery shopping is within 10 minutes. 2. The staff: While they are short staffed and there is only so much they can do, Christie was always very personable and accommodating and would do everything in her power to make sure my stay was as comfortable as it could be. She even allowed me to switch rooms if I needed a change (More on that below). Now the bad: The hotel is starting to show its age and is in desperate need of renovation. I was in three different rooms during my time there and each one of them had something wrong with it. The first one the a/c was broke and the temperature in the room was 85 degrees, then 2nd and 3rd ones the kitchenette faucet was loose. The furniture in each of the rooms was old and worn out and stained with who knows what. Housekeeping is done once a week but the job they did was incomplete. I would notice that they would miss spots when vacuuming and the bath tub had a form of mold growing in it, so it was not deep cleaned. There were gnats and roaches found roaming around in the room hallways and in the common areas. The stairwells were filthy. Stained carpet and I noticed trash that included a bloody tissue and a half eaten chicken leg that stayed there for over a week. There are free laundry machines on site, but make sure you clean the inside of them unless you want built up dirt to bleed on to your clothes, especially your whites! The Fitness Center is lacking and missing key equipment. The breakfast starts too late and ends too early. If you need to report to the FAA Academy at 7AM for class and you can’t eat breakfast until 6:30, that will not leave you much time to eat and get to class. If you’re an FAA Student, don’t expect to be able to host study groups in the conference rooms. They are currently out of service with no indication as to when they will be usable again. What this property has going for it is the location. The proximity to the FAA Academy and access to several dining options on Meridian Ave is hard to beat, but there are several other properties in the immediate area that offer a better experience. I expect a whole lot more from an IHG property, especially one that I had to pay $600+ a month out of pocket for. The service and experience I received was completely unacceptable. I have since moved to another property the FAA pays completely for (nothing out of my pocket) and it gives me everything this place should.

  If it wasn’t for the wonderful staff here I would have given this place less stars. I was here for 11 days. I had to change rooms twice, once for the AC not working and once for a wasp problem in the kitchen. Really sucks to have to pack and unpack, and having to stay in three rooms in one stay speaks for itself with the quality of the rooms. The trail behind the hotel looks nice but I wouldn’t have felt safe walking on it with all the homeless people hanging out in that general area. Not the hotels fault on that but they do advertise the trail which is unusable IMO. The breakfast options were very lacking, although the bacon was so good and crunchy. It seemed like they were constantly running out of stuff. Most days I had to just take a coffee and leave however even the coffee wasn’t stocked sometimes. Frustrating because I don’t have time to wait for everything to come out when I have to go to work. The rooms seem semi updated and wall to wall it was pretty quiet. However I could hear every step taken from the people above me, so if that bothers you then request the top floor. There are nice points about this place, one being the laundry facilities and one being the great staff (especially the front desk). They do seem like they’re very understaffed. I only saw 2 people in housekeeping the entire time I was there and they work hard. To the point where they never had time to clean my room even after I requested. I went 5 days without a sign on my door but I didn’t get any service. I don’t think I’d recommend this place, there are so many hotel options in the area so I’d probably try another one before coming back here.

  I had the pleasure of staying here for about 2 1/2 weeks for a course I took at the FAA Academy. Rooms were clean, workers were polite and friendly and my commute was only 10 mins a day. There’s also a pretty nice trail right behind the hotel. I used it for my daily walks, but you could easily take pets or kids to burn some energy. It felt like a home away from home.
