We have been Platinum Elite members since 2012. As over-the-road (OTR) truck drivers, my husband and I regularly stay at IHG properties throughout the United States. After years of choosing IHG during our travels, we have never experienced such unprofessional treatment.
We requested a room change because Room 302 had an awkward layout, with the television unusually far from the bed. During my conversation with the front desk agent, Tristen, she accused me of yelling at her, which I was not. Another guest witnessed the entire interaction and told her, “She’s not yelling at you.”
When I asked for her name, Tristen refused, responding, “I don’t have to give you that.” I later obtained her name from the guest who witnessed everything.
Tristen continued insisting that I was yelling and contacted security, claiming I was being irate and asking to have me removed. At that point, I called my husband to come downstairs. She then contacted a manager named Mark and gave what I believe was a greatly exaggerated account of the interaction.
My husband asked to speak with Mark, who initially confirmed that we could stay and address the situation in the morning. Tristen then began crying, claiming we were harassing her and saying she wanted to go home. We were not harassing her, and the other guest remained there as a witness. Tristen then handed the phone to the security guard, and suddenly we were told we had to leave.
From our perspective, her emotional reaction overrode the manager’s initial decision. It felt as though removing us was easier than addressing her behavior and potentially being left without a front desk employee.
The security guard was also rude and unprofessional and refused to give us his name. Although he had not witnessed the interaction, he treated us as though we had done something wrong, taking our pictures and recording us without our permission.
The guest who witnessed everything gave me her name and phone number. She also said she intended to contact corporate because she was equally shocked by what she had witnessed.
Being removed from the property over a straightforward room-change request was humiliating and completely uncalled for. We were forced to find another hotel at the last minute.
As OTR truck drivers, we rely on hotels for much-needed rest while working away from home. Our continued loyalty to IHG should have been met with professional communication and fair treatment. Instead, we left feeling disrespected, humiliated, and deeply disappointed.

Worst Holiday Inn I’ve ever stayed in. Had to cancel my extra nights. No breakfast put out. They look at you like they don’t even care. I only stay at Holiday Inn and this one could not believe Holiday inn is heading in the this direction with franchise owners.

Location was good for us. Close to Integris Heart Hospital. Pool was quiet and warm. Rooms and service was great as well. Only downside was we had a room facing the parking lot and the lights beamed in so bright it was hard to sleep. Needs black out curtains!!

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, RENT A ROOM FROM THIS PLACE! How are they open and knowingly have an infestation of bed bugs???
I came here because I had surgery the next day and had to be there at 5 AM. I woke up at 2:30 am and was scratching my leg to realize I just had been bit by a bed bug!!!! Not 1 but 2 bugs! They moved us rooms at and finally went back to bed at 3 am just to be awake at 4:30…. They did a refund no questions asked, but please for your safety and kids safety!
Not to mention, I’ve been panicking.. what if I was bit by a bug that bit someone with HIV previously???
Disgusting.
Any questions? Just comment and I’ll get back with you as soon as I can!
