We were really disappointed to learn there was no breakfast. We go to OKC for Dr our appointments, and this was th first one without being able to eat breakfast before going. Live and learn.
Also, it was very loud outside the hotel. Hearing car doors & ppl talking most of the night.
Our September 2026, stay at Candlewood Suites in Oklahoma City, OK near Bricktown was terrible. Unpleasant enough that it is highly doubtful we will stay at an IHG hotel again.
From check-in to check-out, we had issues. Upon arrival there was no one at the desk, a young man walked out of a room and asked if we were checking in. He walked behind the desk and attempted to check us in. There was a computer issue – we waited for 30 minutes while he and I assume a manager who was on the phone kept trying to reboot the computer. He did not seem knowledgeable, and he was texting consistently on his phone. There was another computer that the employee never attempted to use – maybe it did not work either? Finally, a woman came out of another room and checked us in on her computer - why did this take 30 minutes?
The remodel of the hotel is bad – poorly painted – chips in walls – tubs – old finishings – just bad.
The sheets on the bed were stained – not dirty but what looked like an oil stain – I do not think I have ever stayed in a hotel that used stained sheets/towels.
When making the reservation, I asked if a Fire Stick would work and was assured it would be no problem. When we tried to use our Fire Stick – there was so much static we could not hear the program. We tried to call the front desk for assistance – but the PHONE DID NOT WORK! There was no dial tone.
The air conditioner was not working adequately to cool the room.
The gym was out of order.
There was trash in the hallway by two rooms when we got to our floor. When we left in the morning, the trash was still there!
Front counter was very rude. Wouldn't acknowledge me speaking to them after being proved wrong that I had already paid for my room online. Childish.
We came to the City so I can have surgery and have stayed in Candlewood Suites in the past. This one did not disappoint. The desk clerk Luisa initially said she couldn't find our reservation. She persevered and found it. The person who I spoke with on the phone when I originally made the reservation TOTALLY misspelled my name. If not for Luisa continuing to look into this there is no telling what would have happened. She is definitely an asset to this hotel and it's too bad there aren't more people like her out there. And more especially for a Gen Z!

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my stay at CandleWood. The biggest issue was the shower—the water pressure was extremely low, and the water was coming out so slowly that it was very uncomfortable to take a shower. For the price we paid, I definitely expected better. I would recommend looking at other hotels in the same price range before booking here.
