  We had a reservation at this establishment and upon our arrival were told that many of the rooms were not cleaned and our room would have to be changed and there would be a price increase. The young man Cane at the desk is new and stated multiple times that his manager raises prices based on occupancy. Nicholas is the manager and he refused to speak with me on the phone but later appeared at the hotel and began raising his voice and trying to intimidate me by standing over me and repeatedly saying I was wasting his time making him come to the hotel on his time off. He kept stating he wanted to “pull up” on my husband and speak to him. It had nothing to do with my husband. Why do you send your housekeeping staff home before all rooms are cleaned? Why does IHG have someone so unprofessional running a hotel that represents a global brand? We are members of IHG and have never in our time seen such a circus and experienced such a low level of professionalism. His staff is afraid of him. We left and gave our business to another hotel and will definitely make sure every major business in Alva knows how unprofessional this property is run and to avoid housing any visitors there. At a minimum, someone from corporate needs to visit and teach customer service and manners to Nicholas and his team. Totally unacceptable and a definite reason to avoid this property at all costs.

  The front desk host when checked-in was not hospitable. However, the 2nd host was professionally dressed and very hospitable. Our group was traveling cross country wanting to take a much needed stop and do wash. We quickly learned that laundry was out of order. Our stay went downhill from there. The floor we stayed on had a vacated ice maker machine and caution tape across room next to ours. Our room specific room has a worn rug and chair, spackle marks on the walls, and missed matched bedding.

  Great hotel! Great staff and great breakfast. Very clean. Also, for anyone saying there was no hot water, you just need to let the water run a few minutes in the tub and the hot water will get there. Just sharing that in case anyone is worried about that when they read the other reviews
