This hotel has gone down in both physical and friendliness. In a 4 night stay we had to get 6 sets of keys.
The staff EXCEPT housekeeping ladies were rude and not helpful. The breakfast ran out at 8am and was told maintenance would be in shortly. For breakfast?? Juice machine was broke one morning. Asked for extra towels and was given 2 for a family of 6.
The only nice this is the location of the hotel right in the square.
Very convenient location to downtown Warren, Ohio. Lots of things to do and places to eat within walking distance. The hotel staff was kind, considerate, and friendly. Very quiet, so getting uninterrupted sleep was very much appreciated each night during my stay. Personnel at the front desk were always very kind, even offering to help with my luggage during checkout when the carriers were already in use by other guests ~ your kindness was very much appreciated for that, TJ!
I'll be back.

What could be so much more. A Best Western in a historic downtown building that was probably a really cool place in previous decades.
I travel to the Warren, Ohio, area once every summer for work, and I've stayed at this hotel two consecutive years. I can give a fair assessment of this hotel, and I'm disappointed. I likely won't be returning unless the rates are reduced.
The hotel is located in downtown Warren, which like many was probably a nice small city about 40 years ago. What's left is a decent little town square and a couple fair-to-decent blocks surrounded by mostly ghettos.
In 2025, there was an underground lounge/grill located in the basement of the hotel. This was a cool spot. Not an establishment where I'd bring young children, but a nice spot for adults to get a drink or two or a later-night dinner. It was open late, so after a long day of travel or work, it's nice to know there was a downtown bar that stayed open past ~9pm. For someone like me, the bar certainly added to the value of the $150+ per night room.
When I returned with my wife in 2026, and recommended the hotel to a friend and his wife, the bar was closed. Apparently Best Western corporate does not allow bars to be attached to their hotels. Everyone was disappointed.
The entire hotel reeked of weed. Not a surprise in 2026 at a lower level chain hotel. But man, a historic place like this, it's just sad to see a place like this overrun with people smoking pot in their rooms when there were No Smoking signs all over the place. You'd like to see the staff have a little more control or care over a unique hotel like this.
You have to park on the backside of the buildings, which is sketchy. There are dumpsters all over the place and garbage all over the ground. Not impressive, but if it was cleaned up a bit, it could be acceptable.
There were other customers out every night playing loud music, dancing, smoking dope in the parking lot. Again, not a surprise in today's world.
I guess I just expect more when the rates are over about $150 a night. You're basically paying for the historic building and staying downtown in a little city that's not real impressive.

Great older building, but modern amenities. Beds are conformable and the place is quiet and secure. Breakfast is typical hotel ... not great, not bad. Staff are very helpful and friendly. I will stay here again.
I'm not sure if it's just our luck or if it's truly this bad. Checked in, they gave us room 307, bathroom was not clean, and by that I don't mean a little thing, but toilet bowl had feces, sink had Coffee stains from someone dumping the coffee and not washing it off. No towels, no soap or anything. I called down to let them know. They offered to give me towels... No, so the person in the lobby asked me to go down to get keys for a new room... Room 315. I go down, and room 315 is in worse shape. The door is open, vacuum is in the room, bed is not made, towels on the floor. Mind you, this was at 1:30am... We were tired feom traveling and wanted to just sleep. I called down to let him know and he gives me a 2nd floor room. 214. I go, and the lights don't work. At all. I go down and he seems annoyed, when I should have been the one to be feeling like that instead of him. So he gets keys for room 215 and asks me to follow him. He checks 214 and couldn't believe that the lights really didn't work. I felt like he didn't believe me and I was just being picky... so we head to room 215 and you wouldn't believe it but... the lights ALSO did NOT work... he even banged on the walls hoping they'd turn on. We head back down to the lobby. He asks if I'm okay with my original room 307 if he just gave me towels... nope. So he gives me the keys to room 105... finally a room that is made up and lights work, but has NO windows.... I felt like I was in a prison room. But because of business, had to stay.
Take this review as you want, but they need to make up a lot of upgrades to this place.
