We had a great experience here. It is a mid range hotel so rating based on that assumption: everything was clean. Refrigerator, coffee in room. Adequate plugins for usb etc. lobby/ breakfast area quite nice and the breakfast offerings were plentiful & broad (on a Tuesday: fresh pancakes, biscuits & gravy, warm cinnamon rolls, 2 types eggs, bacon, plus the standard breads, yogurts, fruit cereal etc.) the person tending breakfast was very nice & kept everything full and clean. My kids were thrilled. I was happy with the coffee bar with creamer options etc. kids were happy with the pool (although deep end is only 5 ft).
Front desk staff was exceptional: friendly and helpful.
Dear Hotel Manager,
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding our stay at your hotel on the evening of July 4–5.
We selected your hotel after it was recommended by friends who are longtime IHG members. At check-in, I specifically requested a room that was both quiet and cold so we could get a good night's sleep after spending the day at Put-in-Bay. Your staff assured us that the suite we were assigned was one of the quieter rooms, and initially everything met our expectations. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and the breakfast the following morning was very good.
Unfortunately, our stay changed dramatically shortly before midnight.
The guests in the adjoining room began yelling, screaming, using extremely foul language, slamming doors, and repeatedly attempting to open the connecting door between our rooms. The disturbance became so severe that members of our group staying on the second floor heard it, came downstairs, and confirmed how loud it was.
We first walked to the front desk, where no employee was present despite the fact that the disturbance was clearly audible from the lobby area. After returning to our room and enduring approximately another 30 minutes of the noise, we finally called the front desk. We explained that we had specifically requested a quiet room and that the situation had become unacceptable.
The employee advised that other guests had already complained and said she would speak with the occupants. She went to their room, but after that conversation the yelling, profanity, door slamming, and disturbance continued for approximately another 30 minutes before things finally settled down.
By that point, we no longer felt comfortable or secure in our room. Instead of relaxing after a long day, we spent much of the night concerned about the repeated attempts to open the adjoining door and wondering whether the disturbance would escalate further. We have stayed in hotels for many years, and this is the first time we have ever had to contact the front desk to ask that another guest stop creating such a serious disturbance.
The following morning, when we checked out, I informed the front desk employee what had happened. To my surprise, I was told that nothing had been passed along from the overnight shift and that everything had apparently been reported as normal. Considering that multiple guests complained, your overnight employee personally responded to the room, and the disturbance continued afterward, I find it very concerning that management was apparently not informed.
