I don't know if it was due to college football or the Labor Day weekend, but we paid 3 times as much for a 1-night (emergency) stay than what we normally pay at an HIE. And we've stayed at dozens across the country and overseas. There certainly wasn't anything exceptional about the hotel, the location, or the amenities. The staff was friendly, the rooms clean, and breakfast pleasant. Exactly like our IHG says in North Carolina, Scotland, Wisconsin, and Germany. The only thing different was the outrageous cost.
