    I normally do not write bad reviews for any company but this experience left me highly upset and my boyfriend as well . The first issue was I booked a room for may14th-17th for my boyfriend and I to attend the Sonic Temple Event and on the website it states payment not due until arrival at property . I noticed an attempted charge to my account a few days before check in not even for the amount I was given on my confirmation email when booking the room , then noticed on the website I booked the room through shows I have two rooms booked for the same days and I only had a confirmation email for one . So I contact the hotel of course the man who answered did not state his name go figure , cancel the other room free of charge and proceeds to tell me that payment is due for the room I have booked . I notified him that is not what the website says and he stated " Oh yeah we must not have changed that but payment is due would you want me to charge the card on file?" I said I only have my half for the room on my debit card and my boyfriend is paying the other half , mind you I never said how my boyfriend was paying . So I paid $390.58 to hold our room until we got there . We arrived on check in date May 14th and noticed two females seeming to have issues checking in and told us to go ahead. We walk up to the desk and I stated my name and we were there to check in , the man at the desk stated " I think I just spoke to you the other day." He proceeded to tell us the remaining total of the room $390.58 , my boyfriend pulls out cash to pay and the man then states " oh we only accept debit card." Now mind you we are not from Ohio we traveled quite a ways to get to Ohio and the man did not even try to offer us a room with the money I already paid to stay for at least the night until we figured something out , also the man did not have a name tag on either . So my boyfriend and I drive all over town to find a bank or atm that will allow us to make a cash deposit and guess what nowhere allowed us to . Yet we see the same two females stop at every location we did which leads me to believe they were not notified of the no cash policy as well . However, we call back up to the hotel and explain the situation to the man and once again never offered us to stay for the night with the money I already paid and keeps saying we only accept debit card and then proceeded to tell my boyfriend I told him that my boyfriend was paying with a debit card in which I never said so now you're lying on folks .However, the only good thing this man did was refund my money I paid for the down payment . We searched for another hotel in the same city and guess what they were booked , we found one outside of grove city but it was in the rough part of town and I was not and will not jeopardize mine or my boyfriends safety absolutely not . My boyfriend and I spent $800 on the sonic temple tickets for the 4-days to not even get to enjoy it and had to go right back home the same day . We were looking to attend Sonic Temple next year and would have loved to have stayed at this hotel but now I do not think after our experience we would , Candlewood Suites in Columbus Ohio Grove City by IHG do better . I never once been to a hotel that only accepted debit cards as a form of payment absolutely ridiculous .

    This place is very dirty the first room they gave me smelled very bad like dog pee the second room they gave me the door didn't work the had to let me in the toilet didn't flush and the TV didn't work

    We had a reservation with a confirmation # that IHG was able to confirm but the person at the front desk claimed we had no reservation so they gave our room away and had no other room to give us. There was no attempt to help us with our situation. We were there for an event that night and were told that everything was sold out, sorry about your luck. We luckily found another room at a place 20 miles away that was almost $400 more. IHG customer service was great and offered to reimburse the difference in the room rate that we had to pay. I was just EXTREMELY disappointed in the lack of customer service to rectify their mistake at Candlewood.

    they literally won’t even answer the phone so i can book… don’t even bother. i tried calling like 6 times spaced out.
