  This is the worst hotel ive ever stayed in. They charge 15 for parking, it is very noisy. Service desk person was awful (priya). The lock your car in for thr night by closing you in with a gate. You wont sleep here well. Honest.

  Excellent location. The room was spotless. Very accommodating. Definitely worth getting is close to the hospital in which that's what I needed. Their breakfast was amazing. Lot to choose from. I would highly recommend this hotel. Definitely for your Columbus stay I will be going back from Cleveland to here due to my health problems and I will be coming back to this location. Look into it. Definitely worth the value by far

  To comment on the govt review, it does not say retired military needs travel orders and can be for family members. How can you have travel orders if you are retired military? Also waiting until the day of the reservation at 5:15 to send an email is not appropriate, the contact should've been done weeks before checking in if there was going to be a different rate or your hotel require something dofferent (even the lady at the front desk stated this is your hotel policy, not an IHG). Getting at the hotel at 11:30 to be informed of a rate change of over $200 is not good and to leave no choice but to stay there. Also, appears since this stay, you have now updated the website to two options. 1) Military Appreciaton Rate and 2) Govt. / Military Business Rate. When we booked there were not these options. I've also attached a photo of what was posted on the website when the reservation was made.

  I wish I had read some of the reviews to have AVOIDed booking this hotel — the experience was terrible & so unpleasant! This hotel seems not follow ihg standards: the shower water flow rate is forced to be very small even turned to the maximum, you can imagine how do you feel when shower to wash long hairs with tiny water stream dripping down…; as others reviewed, the swimming pool area is not well maintained and cleaned, and someone even found bedbugs in their rooms. Regarding to my unique experience here, I would like to raise serious concerns about the safety staying at this hotel! Our family was resting in our room and the kids are sleeping, then, soneone was heavily knocking the door, which , surely waken up the kids and interrupted our rest. I opened the door and suddenly a strong smoke smells come in from the hallway, and there was a staff member standing there who just knocked our room door and asking if anything is burning in our room? I checked and said no, and was also wondering where the smoke smells came from, should our family evacuate the room immediately? Is there a fire in this building? A lot of questions and also a bit scared ! The staff member did his job by knocking each room to check and eventually found the smoke source from a room due to a burning microwave! The microwave was then removed and the smoke was gone, everybody in the hallway and rooms were releaved. Though nobody was hurt in this incident, Surprisingly to all the guests with witness, the SMOkE DETECTORs in that room and the hallway were NOT ALARMing! which should sound loundly given the strong smoke smells along the whole hallway and floor! Those potential malfunction smoke detectors really put guests’ safety in great danger and voliate the building fire safety codes! With such huge concerns, I did raise it to the front desk but the manager was not there! The front desk lady was impatient but she did took the notes to escalate. I hope the manager and staff there really take this seriously by checking each smoke detector to comply with building safety codes! FOR THE SAKE OF GUESTS’ SAFTY! The hotel’s location is good as it is close to OSU, but you have many hotel options in the same area, so, as I stated at the beginning, I wish I had avoided this hotel by choosing another one due to this bad experience.

  ( Not Veteran friendly) Ok, so it’s been a minute since I have had to leave a negative review for a IHG hotel. I’ve stayed at many holiday inn’s for work and travel. Personally I love and prefer holiday inn, but today’s experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I would advise against staying at this hotel, the hotel its self is nice. The check-in and management staff not so much. Recently I reserved two rooms months in advance and with my military discount off line. Fast forward to today and the room prices are two to almost the times the price what I booked for due to events in the area . Well the check in staff decided I (A military combat veteran) didn’t deserve the military rate and decided to cancel my reservation and charge me the full rate after being provided with the requested ID. This hotel is not veteran friendly and IHG as a whole supports private owners making their own requirements which is pushing me to change from supporting and staying at holiday inns. If you reserve a room here prepare to be price gouged and your reservation modified if you got a good deal prior to an event taking place.
