What a great weekend to stay at this place! It was so cool to catch the fireworks from my room. Plus, it was super convenient for my appointment the next day. Being so close to the hospital made things so much less stressful. Definitely a good choice for a short trip.

The Intercontinental Hotel is exceptional in every way. They are focused on customer care. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They are co-located with Cleveland Clinic & have easy access to the skyway. We didn’t need our car the entire visit. Their restaurant, Table 45 was also exceptional in every way. They have delicious menu options, and are especially excellent at special medical diets. I have serious food allergies and am very sensitive. They handled my special diet request expertly and with a smile. I had no allergy issues. My food was as delicious as my husband’s, who ordered off their standard menu. We ate every dinner at this restaurant by choice, and were always extremely happy with our choices. The hotel is a little pricy, but they have special rates for Cleveland Clinic patients, and that’s helpful. If I have to come back to Cleveland Clinic, I will definitely stay here again.

I've stayed in many hotels over the years, but I can't remember feeling this taken advantage of. My son came to Cleveland for major surgery, and we initially expected to stay only five days for his recovery. Unfortunately, complications required additional procedures, and what was supposed to be a short visit has now stretched well beyond three weeks, with our stay likely exceeding a month. The hotel applies "special Cleveland Clinic patient rates," but those rates are neither transparent nor consistent. They started at over $250 per night, quickly increased to more than $300 per night, and when I extended my stay, I was even quoted $400 for a single night. When it became clear that we would need to stay longer than a week, I asked about the weekly rate but was told it could not be applied retroactively. After repeated appeals to the front desk, the director of front office, Kayla Meeder, capitulated and applied a 10% discount. After my son's unexpected second surgery, I inquired about a monthly rate. The only accommodation offered was a waiver of the 17.5% occupancy taxes. Even with that, our total bill will exceed $8,300. Had we known from the outset that our stay would last this long, we would have rented an Airbnb or another extended-stay option for a fraction of the cost. Families staying here are often dealing with serious medical situations and have little choice but to extend their reservations as circumstances change. The pricing structure seems designed to capitalize on that reality rather than support patients and their families during an incredibly difficult time. To make matters worse, the hotel offers few of the amenities that are standard at many lower-priced hotels. There is no complimentary breakfast, no free microwave, and no complimentary refrigerator. These are basic conveniences that hotels such as Fairfield Inn routinely provide. The lack of published rates, combined with fluctuating "Cleveland Clinic patient rates," leaves guests with no way to anticipate or budget for an extended stay. For a hotel that markets itself to families of hospital patients, this approach is deeply disappointing. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe others deserve to know what to expect before booking here. I hope the hotel reconsiders how it treats families facing medical crises, because the current pricing and policies leave vulnerable guests feeling exploited rather than supported.

After traveling for 17 hours, I expected a warm welcome and a premium experience, particularly having booked a suite. Instead, this stay provided a highly disappointing first impression of Cleveland and the hotel. The service failure started the moment our taxi arrived: The Arrival: There was a guy in uniform standing right in front of the hotel. He didn’t even hello, let alone help with our luggage from the taxi or suggest a porter service. When we asked him where reception was, he just pointed. The Front Desk: Once inside, we still weren't greeted with a single smile from the staff at check-in.For the expensive price tag, the value simply isn't there, and this is definitely not what I would expect from the InterContinental brand or for that kind of money. The whole “vibe” is cold and impersonal. The Room: Antiquated and showing severe wear. The paint is chipped, mirror stained, and my windows face directly into a bleak brick building. The pillow are old and uncomfortable and presumably nobody has heard of feather or down pillows. The aircondition is antiquated and loud Outdated Tech: There are absolutely no modern charging stations for today's communications and devices. To make matters worse, the existing power outlets are wobbly and completely unstable. The Amenities: I went to the “lounge” at 9:00 PM (when we arrived travel-weary) looking for options, and there was absolutely nothing available. This property does not live up to the brand standard or the high rates they charge. Bitterly disappointing service and facilities
