  Without a doubt, this was the worst Holiday Inn Express I’ve stayed at in over 20 years of traveling. I’ve stayed at Holiday Inn Express locations all over the country, and this one was a huge disappointment. The property felt run down, and the overall experience just didn’t come close to the standard I’ve come to expect from the brand. From the moment we checked in until we left, it seemed like there was a lack of attention to detail and very little pride in maintaining the hotel. It’s frustrating because I normally choose Holiday Inn Express knowing what to expect, but this location completely missed the mark. I won’t be staying here again, and I would recommend looking at other hotels in the area before booking this one.

  Do not stay at Holiday Inn Express Dayton West Brookville. My husband and I were very disappointed with the condition of the hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted with chunks of bread littering the sidewalk. The elevator was in poor condition and sounded like it was about to break down, causing us to use the steps instead. The entry door to the first room we were assigned would not open because the door was not hung correctly and would not clear the floor. We requested and were assigned to a different room. The quality of the complimentary breakfast was poor. The crock pot meant to contain oatmeal was empty and filthy from the last time it had been used. Milk was contained in an insulated and chipped pitcher inside a mini fridge which was marked to contain eggs, milk, and yogurt. There were no eggs in the fridge and the containers of yogurt did not contain expiration dates. Bread and pre-prepared eggs and sausages were available, however, I did not trust eating them. When we complained about the quality of the food and the condition of the hotel, the manager acknowledged the issues and said the reason why he was there was to see what needed to be done. He apologized for our experience.

  We stopped at this hotel off and on for years, and I've never seen it this bad. Disrepair, it smells very musty and moldy when you walk in the door in the rooms are very damp. There is a lot of kitchy junk decorations, and it's just not clean and chic like a typical holiday in Express. I am picky about the quality of the place I stay because I have a mold allergy, but I really had no other options. A lot of disrepair in my room, and a very thick layer of dirt and dust on the filter in the AC unit. I always clean these off myself if this is the case. The light in the bathroom on the mirror would not turn on but would just flicker. I would say, drive a little longer and find a better location.

  We\nWere going to try to drive through the night but stopped here because it was raining and hard to see. The elevator seriously seems like it's about to fall apart. I was so scared to ride it. I will be reporting it to the fire department to have them come look at it. The room had a little bit of damage. It was fairly clean but very old. We were told breakfast would be out at 6 AM. We waited around until 6:35, and breakfast still wasn't fully put out. No cereal, pancakes, biscuits, most of the stuff that doesn't even have to be made. I knocked on the kitchen door and asked if my son could have some orange juice. She came out , filled the apple juice and went back in. The orange still empty. I assumed she might be getting orange in the back. Waited another ten minutes still no show. The breakfast attendant , either needs help or retrained. I wish I would've taken pictures of the breakfast or lack of. I did enjoy swimming I just ignored all the cracks in the ceiling where it was leaking from the rain. I have never been to a holiday inn this terrible!

  Honestly? We are extremely disappointed with this visit. We checked in and were put into a room - we noticed: holes in the walls, no smoke detector (just wires hanging down), shampoo dispenser broken, plaster lying under the window, shotty pain job, everything felt damp. We requested a new room and at our urging they switched us. Our new room was marginally better but had many outlets that did not work. The pool was worse. The pool deck is dirty - it looks like they took popcorn ceiling off and just left it there. We found a discarded bandaid on the pool deck and it obviously hasn’t been cleaned in a while. We complained to the dean about it and 10 hours later it still wasn’t cleaned. And the towel racks were empty. The elevator floor is self-cut old rug that isn’t even lying flat. The eggs were burnt at breakfast. The only good thing is the beds are comfortable. This is not up to Holiday Inn Express standards.
